I did the full marathon there a few years ago.
Very well organised, very flat, excellent race.

I'd advise against a hotel near the finish as city centre accommodation is usually overpriced. Public transport is excellent and will get you almost anywhere within 30 minutes. Get something within a few minutes of an U-Bahn station and you're fine.
