Anyboody else find it terribly interesting that even Fox News's top legal analyst thinks the Barr Report was a complete whitewash?

Mueller report 'undoubtedly' proves conspiracy, obstruction: Judge Napolitano

    https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/mueller-report-undoubtedly-proves-conspiracy-obstruction-judge-napolitano

    Where's that Mueller report?

The small amount of democracy remaining in the US is at stake here.

His job was to do the investigation and write the report, what the politicians do with it is up to them

It's likely he's institutionalised as an FBI man who doesn't speak out in public and is too regimented into procedure.

The Democrats and the media need to push as hard as they can for the full report to be released, with no let up.

The Republicans are trying to **** all over justice and democracy here.

All that work... having your reputation insulted constantly for two years... having the fbi insulted for two years.... I doubt he can be too zen about having his report then just put on ice...
but yeah, shocking stuff from the democratics not kicking up a fuss.... William Barr is undoubtedly politicaly compromisesd and he alone seems to have the final say...

Mueller didnt clear Trump of anything. All we have is a summary of a summary by a republican AG of a report we havent seen..we dont know if there was zero collusion or if there was alot of collusion but not enough to indict. Now i see Mitch McConnell want to block the full report coming out, strange if they think it would clear the president

No more indictments means no collusion
It’s over trump won and when the full report comes out which it will it will show no collusion nor obstruction.
If there is no collusion there cannot be any obstruction

You're misinformed. A person can be guilty of obstruction without guilt of an underlying crime being established.

Sorry, but that’s where you are wrong!

Most of the main parts of the Steele Dossier have been confirmed directly or indirectly by the US and other intelligence communities. None of the key points of the Steele Dossier have been legitimately refuted by anyone.

    To quote Wikipedia:

The dossier's "broad assertion that Russia waged a campaign to interfere in the election is now accepted as fact by the US intelligence community." With the passage of time and further revelations from various investigations and sources, it is becoming clearer that the overall thrust of the dossier was accurate, but some details appear to be merely disinformation. Some of the dossier's broad threads have now been independently corroborated. U.S. intelligence agencies and the special counsel's investigation into Russian election interference did eventually find that Kremlin-linked operatives ran an elaborate operation to promote Trump and hurt Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, as the dossier says in its main narrative.

For the FISA request for Carter Page, the FBI and our intelligence agencies independently corroborated the parts they were using as evidence. Ironically it was the Devin Nunes memo that made this detail clear.

The dossier claimed Russian conspirators "used a variety of means to hack the email accounts" of people working on the Hillary Clinton campaign. This has been proven to be true and Mueller has indicted 12 Russian military intelligence officers on hacking and conspiracy charges related to the 2016 DNC hack and the subsequent dissemination of stolen emails via the Russian hacker Guccifer 2.0, the Russia-linked website DCLeaks, and WikiLeaks.

The dossier said that in return for Russia's help in dumping the hacked DNC emails damaging to Clinton, the "TRUMP team had agreed to sideline Russian intervention in Ukraine as a campaign issue and to raise US/NATO defence commitments in the Baltics and Eastern Europe to deflect attention away from Ukraine." Although this hasn't been completely proven, there is a smoking gun and in July 2016, just before the Republican National Convention, Trump campaign softened the language of an amendment to the Republican Party's draft policy on Ukraine. The original language of the draft amendment proposed sending "lethal weapons" to Ukraine to fend off Russia's aggression, but the "lethal weapons" line was softened and changed to say the US would "provide appropriate assistance" to Ukraine.

The dossier also said, "The Kremlin's cultivation operation on Trump also had comprised offering him various lucrative real estate development business deals in Russia..." On many occasions Trump denied any business deals in Russia, but then Cohen revealed that Trump was working on a Trump Tower Moscow deal even after his nomination. In addition, Trump's company even sought direct assistance from the Russian government in pushing it through. Also remember Trump Jr., then the campaign chairman Manafort and Jared Kushner met the Russian lobbyists at Trump Tower. Trump Jr. initially said the meeting had nothing to do with campaign business, but it later emerged that the meeting was pitched to him as "part of Russia and its government's support" for Trump's candidacy.

The dossier alleges that Cohen was instrumental in maintaining the Trump campaign's "secret liaison" with Russian leadership.

The document cited a "Kremlin insider" saying that there were clandestine meetings between Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen and Kremlin representatives in Prague. Cohen still denies this, but investigators have said Cohen's cell phone sent signals off cell towers in the Prague area in late summer 2016. Cohen showing his passport was BS, because he was in Italy and since Italy and the Czech Republic are both part of the EU, his passport wouldn't have been stamped.

The document cited a Kremlin official involved in US relations as saying that Russia worked to cultivate political figures in the US by "funding indirectly their recent visits to Moscow." These figures allegedly included "a delegation from Lyndon LaRouche, presidential candidate Jill Stein of the Green Party, Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page, and former Defence Intelligence Agency director Michael Flynn." Russia's efforts to cultivate those individuals, the dossier said, were "successful in terms of perceived outcomes." In December 2015, Flynn travelled to Moscow and was paid $35,000 to speak at a RT (Russia Today) News event and Flynn was photographed sitting next to Putin. Flynn failed to disclose the $35k he received from RT when he applied to have his security clearance renewed in January 2016. It also emerged that Flynn had secretly discussed US sanctions on Russia with Sergey Kislyak, then the Russian ambassador to the US, during the presidential transition period at the same time then-President Obama announced that the US would impose new sanctions on Russia. Kushner also discussed setting up a secret back channel between the Trump team and Moscow using Russian diplomatic facilities.

The dossier claimed Manafort used Carter Page as an "intermediary" between the campaign and high-level Kremlin officials. It also alleged that when Page travelled to Moscow in July 2016, he met with top Russian officials who raised the possibility of offering Page a 19% stake in the state-owned company Rosneft in exchange for the US lifting sanctions on Russia if Trump became president. One of the officials Page is alleged to have met with is Igor Sechin, the president of Rosneft. The dossier said Page "expressed interest" in the offer but was "noncommittal." It also said Page promised that "sanctions on Russia would be lifted" if Trump were elected. Page's own testimony has corroborated key sections of the dossier. When Adam Schiff asked Page during his testimony whether Andrey Baranov, who is the head of investor relations at Rosneft, brought up "a potential sale of a significant percentage of Rosneft" during the July trip, Page replied, "He may have briefly mentioned it."

Paul Manafort is also a significant player in the dossier. In addition to alleging that he managed the Trump team's contacts with Russia while leading the campaign in 2016, the document also named Manafort in connection to Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president and pro-Russian strongman. Manafort and his associate, former deputy campaign manager Rick Gates, were charged in 2017 with multiple crimes related to financial fraud and money laundering. Manafort was charged with additional counts of conspiracy and obstruction of justice last year. Manafort was also deep in financial debt to Russian entities when he joined the Trump campaign. So when Manafort offered to work as an unpaid volunteer for the Trump campaign, it prompted speculation that Manafort was taking on the role so he could serve as a conduit between the campaign and Russia, in an effort to resolve some of his financial problems. Don't forget Manafort also shared confidential campaign polling data with the Russians.

Steele also claimed that Russia was worried a diplomat named Mikhail Kalugin was heavily involved in the meddling operation. Afraid he would be exposed, Russia pulled Kalugin out of Washington on “short notice.” Steele actually misspelled Kalugin’s name, but the U.S. government had identified Kalugin as a Russian spy.

The dossier also said Trump rented the presidential suite at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow during a trip to Russia in 2013. While staying at the hotel, the document says, Trump hired Russian prostitutes to perform sexual acts and golden showers. The hotel is said to be monitored by Russian intelligence, and the dossier alleged that Russian authorities obtained footage of the events which they then used as leverage over Trump. There is no evidence that this allegation is true, but Trump claimed he never stayed overnight in Russia, however this has proven to be another lie by Trump.

Let's also not forget that Mueller agrees with the general consensus that a sitting President cannot be indicted and Barr's short letter (page 3 paragraph 2) outlines that Mueller left it to the AG (and presumably but not stated Congress) to decide what the next best course of action was. Barr, as he outlined in his 14 page letter to interview for the AG job, and as he reiterates in the most recent letter also agrees a sitting President cannot be indicted.

That means Congress must get the full Mueller report as the only course of action is impeachment.

There is no Supreme Court decision on it, but it's not correct to state that it's just Barr that believes this. There is some disagreement as to whether a sitting President can be indicted, but it's correct to say the vast legal consensus (and that of most of Congress) is that a sitting President cannot be indicted; impeachment is the Constitutional method of dealing with this issue.

Trump had a huge issue with Sessions because he recused himself from the probe. Trump never forgave him for that. He mocked him relentlessly. That is public knowledge and plain to see.

He wanted control over the investigation. He attacked it daily.

It's as clear as day why Barr got the job. He auditioned unsolicited for it.

It's as clear as day why Whitaker got the Acting A.G. job too while we are at it.

Trump ran his estate business the NY way and isn't used to oversight. Thankfully, the Dems took the house, the SDNY and various Attorneys General are holding his feet to the fire.

it is a general consensus, not just barrs.
and your link does not prove anything.

it is general consensus you impeach, you remove and then you indict.
or if you cant impeach you threaten indictment after sitting president leaves office, this is how they got nixon to leave.

And this is the same move the democrats are trying now with trump.
problem trump is not a boy scout. not going to work.

He is only unindicted because of his position as a president. Not because he is innocent.

    Otherwise, he would be.

Just to be clear, are you completely okay with the president of the U.S. avoiding a Court Hearing just because of his office?

PS - you've glossed over Cohen being a liar "at the direction" of Trump, and trump's 8500 plus lies. Perhaps you could address those points?

Why people are even talking about the report one way or another based on a 4 page summary of it by a partisan AG is crazy. A complete waste of time. Make the report public and then we can talk. Until then everything is still just speculation.

and do know what i can see 2024 election being a landmark election because i fully expect trump to run again. if that means he changes the law he will. he is only getting started.

what are you basing the highlighted above on, citations?

It's the current DOJ policy not to indict a sitting president and has been since Nixon.
The indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unconstitutionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned functions.

Everlast was probably basing that on existing reality. This has come up many times in different fora and is a difficult fact to have missed out on. It's up there with facts like the colour of the sky and water being wet. Anyone with a desire and an aptitude for being informed would be aware of it.

I am 100% ok with trump as president he could lie 20,000 times.

Thankfully, at least for now, the US isn't a dictatorship where Trump can implement laws at a whim. Presidential terms limits are set under the 22nd Amendment.

A nice rebuttal to the allegations of lying made by Trump et al. Nunes looks fit to burst.

I can't see one thing Schiff said that was untrue.

I also agree with him on a moral level. It's a pity more people don't.
