    Must be a Faustian Pact.

    Probably more Warsaw Pact.

Wag of the Day goes to John Schindler: When someone asked if "Organisation 1" was Wikileaks or GRU.

    "Yes."

If he was truly not aware of what was going on, why is not happy these people are being arrested?

(other than it delegitimizing his election)

Totally agree, but we have seen plenty of examples of it in the past. Priests do it all the time for example. The recent debate about the Pope coming to Ireland had plenty of people arguing for understanding of the Popes position when ordinarily those people would be aghast at the sort of treatment carried out.

I am not trying to argue she is right, but we can see posters on here using the very same process. Many of them admit that Trump is bad, a liar, a fraud, but he is doing the things they like so they are prepared to accept it.

SHS is there is keep the wolves from the door to allow the greater work to be carried out. IMO, she sees this almost in religious terms, a great crusade against the evils of the left.

SHS is a true believer in terms of GOP conservatism and for them Trump is an absolute Godsend.

He is cutting taxes and regulations on businesses
He is gutting the Federal government , either by putting people in charge of Departments that they active hate (Pruitt at the EPA , DeVos at Education etc.) or simply by not staffing them at all. The Shut-down is just the icing on the cake for some of them.
He is filling the Judiciary with hard right life-time appointees

He is delivering on everything that is core to the Conservative view that no previous administration had the balls to do because it was so politically toxic.

Trump is their very useful idiot and they'll keep him for as long as possible.

And when they eventually cut him loose , they'll use his utter corruption and stupidity as Air-cover for them getting everything they wanted.

Think about it , even if the Democrats sweep the boards in 2020 , they will find it very very hard to roll back the tax cuts as by then they'll be facing into a recession. The Judiciary is out of their hands for a generation.

How much of the damage that has been done can they actually undo at this stage?

The Democrats will have to get off the fence and actually stand for something. The fact that they are starting to embrace AOC's 'shock horror' idea of taxing the very rich might indicate that they are getting there. It does take somebody like AOC to fly these kites and say the unsayable for people to realise that actually the sky will not fall on their heads and voters might quite like the idea.

Just noticed that Bannon is described as the 'high-ranking official'.

The indictment also references 'a senior official' (who was 'directed') and 'senior officials'.

Bannon is only regarded as 'High Ranking'!

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/nov/13/donald-trump-jr-communicated-with-wikileaks-during-final-stages-of-election
According to leaked information obtained by the Atlantic, Trump Jr shared the news that WikiLeaks had been in touch with him with several members of the inner campaign team. Among those he allegedly told were Steve Bannon, then chief executive of the Trump presidential campaign, as well as the candidate’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Also: Wikileaks instructs Junior and Senior obeys within 15 minutes.
    October 12, 2016:

WikiLeaks again messages Trump Jr. on Twitter: “Hey Donald, great to see you and your dad talking about our publications.” WikiLeaks continues, “Strongly suggest your dad tweets this link if he mentions us.” The message also included this link: “wlsearch.tk.” WikiLeaks continued,

“There’s many great stories the press are missing and we’re sure some of
your follows [sic] will find it.” And “Btw we just released Podesta Emails Part.”

15 minutes after it was sent, candidate Trump tweeted, “Very little pick-up by the dishonest media of incredible information provided by WikiLeaks. So dishonest! Rigged system!”

    Also:
    August 2016:

Alexander Nix, the chief executive of Cambridge Analytica, and top Donald Trump donor Rebekah Mercer, email about whether they can better organize emails released by WikiLeaks.

Nix reportedly relays “that he had emailed Assange seeking access to emails from Clinton’s private server to turn them into a searchable database for the campaign or a pro- Trump political action committee.”

Look at Italics in both quotes above. Mercer asks for searchable Wikileaks, Assange gives to JR?

Lastly part of the email exchange between Bannon and Stone on Oct 4th NOT included in indictment:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/01/us/politics/wikileaks-roger-stone-trump.html
    Tuesday, October 4, 2016
    FROM: Roger Stone
    TO: Steve Bannon
    EMAIL:

Don’t think so BUT his lawyer Fishbein is a big democrat .

I know your surrogates are dumb but try to get them to understand Danney Williams case

chick mangled it on CNN this am

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3819671/Man-claiming-Bill-Clinton-s-illegitimate-son-prostitute-continues-campaign-former-president-recognize-him.html

He goes public in a big way Monday— Drudge report was a premature leak.

I’ve raise $150K for the targeted black digital campaign thru a C-4

Tell Rebecca to send us some $$$

    Plot thickens etc.

Stone talking live on Infowars now. WTF. Sounds like he's desperately trying to cajole the nutjobs to donate to his legal fund. It's f***ing hilarious how Jones keeps interrupting him to tell listeners to go and buy t-shirts at the Infowars store.

They're such trash. I wonder sometimes if Mueller looks at a bottom-feeder like Stone and thinks "Yuck. I'm better than this"

He was stupid enough to threaten a witness by text. So he might be that stupid.

Stone is one of those people who thinks he's smarter than he actually is.

I've always suspected these folks were solid examples of the Dunning Kruger Effect in motion; wealth, privilege and an insular, protective network are great shields to the kind of self-awareness and introspection most of us otherwise experience or grow from.

The grapevine is suggesting that the shutdown will be ended temporarily without any funding being provided for the wall. Glad to see this gobsheenery come to an end, if true.

Stopgap for a few weeks, but we've been here before. Trump is going to cave... he can't re-open government for 4 weeks and then shut it down again for the same reason.

Re SHS and the press briefing, was it on the lawn or inside the press briefing room from the podium? I saw somewhere that Don had instructed that the press were not to be given daily briefings.

I think it wasn't a press briefing, she just went on the MSM shows*.

Watching CNN news, podium set up in Rose Garden, Don reportedly coming out to make statement about Govt shutdown - WH, Hill near deal to re-open Govt.

Hints are coming from CNN that the reason for a deal was reports of pilots telling their aircraft passengers that the reason for the delay [in landing] was the Govt shutdown. Too much bad news for Don's people to withstand the need to re-open the Govt. The hints include the Dems are keeping with their "no money for the wall" position. There has been some delay now of his appearance, seeming the deal is not yet secure. Putting it simply the public has had enough, alongside the horror if a plane crashed due to lack of, or presence of tired, ATC personnel on duty at NY airports.

Roger Stone on media briefing getting a lot of "lock him up" heckling from the crowd after his release on bail explaining there may have been errors in what he said [sic -IN THE PAST].

Looks like Trump is going to speak at the White House about a deal to reopen the government for three weeks with no wall funding included.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,939 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

And the funny thing is that it's not clear what Trump will actually say. Hold onto your hats lads.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,302 ✭✭✭PropJoe10

Still no sign of him. Either he's trolling, or his advisors are trying to coach him on what to say without making an utter balls of it.

    EDIT: Here he is now.

He's talking absolute drivel about "smart walls" now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,939 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

That wall in Israel is hardly one you want to be comparing yours to.
