Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I now have all my Amazon packages bar 2, my replacement items also arrived today. So just hoping the lost items don't turn up and then I have to send them back. The postman said thing are getting back to the normal Christmas business levels now! Happy days!

Probably a silly question but what is normal Christmas business levels? Does that still include delays or should we expect orders on time before Christmas?

I usually avoid ordering things around Christmas but this year have gotten stung.

Sorry not a postman , but I think he meant items might be a day or so late. But should be on time. Throw in a few days of bad weather (snow and ice) and god only knows!

Small item ordered Sunday with Amazon Prime here on Wednesday. Thats good enough for me.

In our area where we have a Postman that does all deliveries by van the postman said that this week half his deliveries had been parcels from Amazon. He also said that deliveries from China had dried up so guess there will soon be new complaints in the Anyone still waiting for stuff from China? thread.

But the junk mail never stops, or gets lost, no fear of that, got An Post stuff today. concentrate on the good stuff lads/ladies (in HQ), not the junk :D

So two orders, both of which had been declared lost and refunded, arrived as one delivery yesterday

And a pretty stupid idea given that they know it was delivered.

Contacted them through chat - they took the payment for one order again immediately and told me to keep the other one FOC.

Had to get with them to make payment for an item that was initially refunded, but eventually arrived yesterday. But weird thing is it still shows as pending return and didn't get an email with the receipt, even though I have been now been charged for it. Same for you ?

My daughter's birthday was last friday. Two birthday cards, that we know of, still haven't arrived.

I went up to collect some amazon parcels in the Dublin 7 collection centre on saturday.
The guy was clearly stressed out, felt bad for him on his own. Turned out one of the items I had a slip for was actually delivered to a neighbour.

Have an amazon order delayed for two weeks now. Estimated arrival 3 January.
Amazon say 3-5 days, yet I'll be waiting a month. Do I have any comeback?

I contacted Amazon this morning about my parcel that was supposed to be delivered on December 3rd, they have started the refund process but I have just got home and got a leaflet saying they tried to deliver but nobody was home. What happens now with regards the refund? I'd rather stop that process than having to return the parcel. I can't see an option on the order in Amazon to contact them again about it.

Get onto Live Chat on their website and tell them. Regardless once it is delivered they are notified and if it isn't returned by a certain date they recharge you for it. I got a package last sat that was weeks late, they had already refunded it, they emailed to say if I don't return by Jan 4 they recharge me. They included a prepaid label for An Post. I´ll be returning as no longer any use to me but you can get them to either stop refund or to refund and recharge you. Live Chat on website is best option.

Weird thing is I contacted them stating I would like to pay for an item that was initially refunded as being lost and they went ahead and charged me immediately for it. But it still shows as due for return in my account and didn't actually get an email about the payment, yet the transaction is showing as completed on my side.

That's tricky. Was that a while ago as I find it takes them a good few days to update everything. I´d do a Live Chat again and explain issue and see what they say, it obv needs resolving if they've charged you for it and yet expect it back. Should be easy enough to sort I´d imagine

It was yesterday, I even went to their live chat and was told by the support personal that he "updated" it on the system, but still nothing. One would imagine, the initial person who recharged me for it, would have done it.

I think it took 4 working days for my account to be updated.

They said "today was the last day" so it makes sense to keep airing it until the post office closes. I'm pretty sure the guy in the Dublin 7 collection centre will appreciate hearing the ad :)

Some of the depots are open till 9pm (Monday - Friday)so people can collect their parcels/packets as they're running out of storage space in the depots between stuff coming in at a rate of knots and ones that cant be delivered.

Are An Post doing weekend deliveries?

Ordered something from Italy on eBay. According to the Italian postal tracking, it left Italy on the 10th and arrived in Ireland the next day. The tracking number is not recognised on anpost track and trace. Any ideas?

You'll have to wait until it gets scanned in Portlaoise. Same thing happened to me. I was waiting over a week for it to be scanned.

When did it reach An Post?

I had an package ordered last Wednesday the 5th, left the Fufillment centre in Warwickshire on Thursday the 6th, arrived at the Dublin Parcel Centre on Saturday after which the tracking number became recognised on the An Post website. It was scanned in at 1332, and I got the text message with the view alternative delivery options link at 1403. Package was delivered on Monday morning with the rest of the post.

For me at least I can't say I've noticed a delay with any black friday/christmas packages. With one exception Amazon have been spot on with their delivered by date on the item page and at check out with the 2 day prime delivery, that was something that arrived on a Monday instead of the Friday and that got me a months free prime for my troubles.

Order dispatched from amazon on the 1st has disappeared into the ether. Amazon refunded me and also gave me a months free prime.

Ordered something off Amazon today, giving me a delivery due date of 28th December, but I can cancel if I want and if it arrives too late can refuse at delivery, sure we'll see, if it arrives before Christmas, grand, if the 28, grand, reduced from £298 to £99.00 (E108)

Order from amazon Italy on the 6th was in Ireland for the 7th and an post delivered it on on the 11th. Tracking number had no movement until after delivery.

Are they definitely delivering parcels today ? Or is it just larger towns.
Have a package to be delivered since Friday as in it’s out for delivery since Friday morning, no sign of it Friday or yesterday. Paid an Irish company extra for next day delivery on Thursday morning. It was kind of important I got this as it’s to head off with someone on an early flight tomorrow.

In our area they only deliver to the larger built up areas at weekends. No rural weekend delivery. If you have the same postman for letters and parcels, chances are you won't get a delivery today.

Taught as much no sign of any vans around today or yesterday for that matter. I was expecting it to arrive yesterday as it was scheduled on Friday. Pissed off now.

There was definately a full nationwide delivery yesterday and am sure the larger urban areas are getting a parcel delivery today.

There was a full letter and parcel delivery yesterday nationwide.

Primary route parcel delivery today. Saw delivery van in Churchtown, Dublin earlier.

They also have a large number of Enterprise Rent-a-van vans.

    Saturday and Sunday for parcels

I've been waiting 5 working days since it entered the An Post tracking system.
That's fine, they are busy, but now I'm getting attempted deliveries on Saturday to my work address (which anyone would know is closed on Saturday/Sunday), that seems like a waste of precious resources.

Does anyone know do they attempt to re-delivery or do I have to try and find a delivery note (no chance!). I think I read last year they do 3 attempts?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 227 ✭✭jennyq

Sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know if it’s possible to just go collect packages from the Dublin 12 delivery depot? Packages sitting not moving for days after supposedly being “delivered” and then somehow gone back to the depot. Don’t fancy the chances of another botched delivery attempt.

No you wont get past the security at the gate if you try go to the DMC in D12, so not worth wasting your time. Its when it land's in your local area delivery office you can pick it up from there

If it's an Amazon delivery. They are required to attempt delivery 3 times AFAIK

They didn't for me. They attempted once and left a note for me to collect from next day from local depot.

The Amazon support have gone to the absolute dogs. If I have to take to another Amir or aknina or whatever they're calling themselves.....

Last time I'll bother with Amazon, just not worth the hassle.

Amazon sent me duplicate packages, including as part of a gift to someone and then sent me an email demanding I return them.

I never ordered them in the first place and in one case they've incurred extra parcel motel fees.

Very annoyed. I just cancelled prime and will be giving Amazon a skip in future.

Mine arrived today despite tracking still stating attempted delivery. An Post causing unnecessary grief for themselves confusing customers.
