Upgrading a 128 Gb iPhone SE to an iPhone 8 64 Gb .... worth it?

Thinking of upgrading for some upcoming travels and then using the SE as a travel phone with local sims in different countries

Is there much of a difference in the two? Reviews online are giving mixed feedback.

I was previously thinking of getting an unlocked Samsung J3 and using that as the travel phone and keeping the SE as my main one. The J3 comes in at about 180 euros depending on where I buy it and the upgrade for the SE to iPhone 8 is 300 euros on my Vodafone plan

What I mostly want to improve on the SE phone is pictures and video. Does the 8 improve much over the SE in this regard? Both are 12 MP but the 8 uses better lenses apparently

A P20 Pro for it's camera(s) was considered too but it's too much hassle to switch to Android when doing extensive traveling. Maybe on the next upgrade ;)

My budget can't stretch to an XR, XS etc. I'd say 300 euros max is what I can do

    Any feedback would be great

Screen is a big step up from SE to 8.

But what you're asking is all subjective. I think it would be best to go to a shop and have a look at the phone for yourself and see the screen and camera.

Trying to find an iPhone 8 that isn't a non working dummy model is quite tricky in Dublin city centre at the moment ;) So far anyway

I'm on the fence about this so any arguments for or against would be great

If you're getting this device to be your go-to for communication, photos and video when travelling, then go as high as you can.

Forget megapixels, the single lens in an iPhone 8 is excellent. Every iteration get better. It will certainly be a big jump from the SE.
