Change supply address associated with a meter?

    Hello,

We live in a block of 4 apartments. Recently, due to ongoing sales of a couple of the units, it came it to our attention that the original land registry apparently had different ordering of the apartment numbers, so we switched around the numbers on the apartments themselves to match.

Unfortunately, this is apparently causing issues for new renters we have as the billing address and supply address no longer match.

Is it possible to update/change the supply address associated with a meter? I would need to update the address on 3 meters (I have mprn details for them and access to the meters themselves). The change would essentially just be an apartment number change, otherwise the addresses are unchanged.

    Thank you.

    Hi Sabrewlf,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Do you know if all the apartments are registered with Electric Ireland or another supplier?

ESB Networks maintain the electricity network for all suppliers. Any change to the site address for the MPRN would be at their discretion.

Electric Ireland customers can request a site address change through Electric Ireland by sending an email to service@electricireland.ie or calling 1850 372 372 (or 01 8529534). This would then be forwarded to ESB Networks to follow up.

However if the accounts are in separate names or with different suppliers, it may be better to contact ESB Networks directly if you own the property. That way you an explain that the apartment numbers have been switched around and find out what they require to get it changed.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Aoife
