Nothing special about the number plate as far as I can see, also they didn’t even bother to clean out the ashtray properly.
I’m also pretty sure I know of another one of these, so I don’t think it’s the only one in the country.

It's not i know there's another one down my way, seen one hanging around maynooth a few times never paid attention to reg.

This has to be €5-6k overpriced. Regardless of the overfinch spec.

Looks like a lot of car to me (I know nothing about range rovers), but I assume its overpriced as you're going to need deep pockets for maintenance?

It’s a classic in the eyes of the insurance man and tax man now.

Price wise if it was vrt clear and a fresh nct it would be on the money.

Very little wrong with that price IMO.

It’s not 30 til August which is prob why it’s not VRTd yet.

Classic in my eyes too - Any E segment car I lusted after as a youngster is a classic as far as I am concerned.

I agree, the price on it is spot on if its good. ( I think this turned up in the classic bargains thread too ! :D )

Only one in the country is a phrase used all too often though without actually knowing. At least he isn't insisting on it on this occasion though. The description does not read easily.

    Cnut.

There's a few of them around Dublin, all suffer king of the road syndrome.

Some serious dreaming here. €5,750. Its worth a couple of grand on a good day.

I dont know anybody that has any love for the Mk6 Escort. They were a dreary yoke, outclassed by everything else on the road at the time.

I remember going to a match in Thurles years ago in the back of one of them. The drive from Limerick was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a car. Horrible yolk.

That's a nice example. With the guts of a years tax and test in the window i think ask 1500 to take 1250 would be sensible. I'd love it for 8 or 900.

Total dreamer. Might be worth that kind of money in another 20 years.

I remember auld fella had a 94 one in mid 90's and thinking it was pretty cool at the time with alloys and a bootlid spoiler and the shillouette of an Escort in the instrument cluster.

300k miles, hole in the quarter the size of Connacht, various other patches to be done, looking like a well sucked skittle sweet. Hasn’t seen a nct since 2016.

    €1100 please.

I know they are creeping up slowly in money but for that money I’d expect a turnkey example. Honestly say it’s a €450 car.

I sold them when they were new and they were bags of s h 1 T back then.

And 300k miles on the clock. As you say, clean examples are only going up in value but that car would never be right again. It's only fit for parts IMO.

I’d have it in the morning if the price was realistic, I’ve been hankering for a project lately, something 25+ years old needing some tlc.

SmartinMartin of this parish just sold his 89 saloon for about €1500 (IIRC) with about 80k miles and NCT til next year. Was an absolute bargain

Likewise, i just dont think that car would ever be right without spending multiples of what a clean one would cost from the get go. Looks at the rot on the a pillar.

I know. I was devastated I wasn’t in a position to buy it at the time, it looked like a lovely example, but I need a good project at the moment as there is no work to be done to the Volvo and I need to get the hands dirty. Something old and unloved needing bodywork.

Not exactly run of the mill, but I think this is a crazy price

    https://www.kaaimans.com/current-stock/10903121-volkswagen-beetle-full-electric-conversion/

    eyJrZXkiOiJuZHN0b2NrL2ltYWdlcy9zdG9jay8zZDExN2Y1Nzk2ZWU1MzRhMTBlZTA1MDQxOWE3ZGJhMWVjZmY1YTNlL05EUzEwOTAzMTIxX0RTTzUyNkNfOC5qcGciLCJidWNrZXQiOiJhdXRvZnMiLCJsYXN0X21vZGlmaWVkIjoiMTU3NzEwNDUwNyIsImVkaXRzIjp7InJlc2l6ZSI6eyJ3aWR0aCI6Mzc1LCJoZWlnaHQiOjI1MCwiZml0IjoiY29udGFpbiIsImJhY2tncm91bmQiOnsiciI6MjU1LCJnIjoyNTUsImIiOjI1NSwiYWxwaGEiOjF9fX19

£50k Sterling for a 1965 VW Beetle electric conversion.

Some of the other cars on that site are funny. Some really tacky stuff for the price of a house.

Nail in the coffin is the €2,350 tax.

I know the guy selling it, sold used cars near Kilkenny for years. Also trading and selling on high end cars like that. It’s his own and been driving it about for years. I’d say he’s chancing his arm sticking it up for sale. I can’t imagine many takers bar the odd pimp or drug dealer
