This has to be €5-6k overpriced. Regardless of the overfinch spec.

The bang of failed property developer off that!!

Know very little about them but are they very collectible now? Never many in this country for obvious reasons

I met a guy 4 years who had a manual one on storage. He reckoned it was worth €25k back then.

€1809 road tax I can see why! Whatever we say about the current road tax system, it is better now. Larger engined hybrids in particular have a chance at least

    What’s tax on an i8?

€170 according to this...tax over ten i8s or one 8 Series!

€5775 for a 21 year old 2.4 German estate with cloth seats. And you’ll be owner number 10.

It would not be worth half of that if it was cleaner and with lower mileage.

Where do some people be going with their asking prices?

    You’d be owner 11

He’s registered as a car dealer, I assume his ownership wouldn’t be on the logbook?

Honestly having sold some older bigger cc motor the most it’s worth is €1k.

I sold a saloon E240 ‘98 about two years ago with nct and tax for €600.

Still, 11 or 10 owners its clearly not a fine fettled example either way.

€4650 for a 20 year old ford escort with over 160k miles.

Must of been one of the last ones, I didn’t realize it ran alongside the focus for two years, I’d say there was a few good deals been done on the escorts back then to get them out the door.

I posted that a while back - when he was looking €1000 more for it :D

Needs at least another €2,500 knocked off it to take it from dreamer territory.

Each to their own - but they are a dreadful yoke.

Who could pass up a deal like this? €499 for a 16 year old Freelander that you can't start, drive or even look inside

The wording of ad just exudes charm. The kind of fella you'd love to deal with...

Could have a bit of craic ringing up and:
Asking if the car's still for sale.
    Making an offer.
Saing the Ad was too long so you didn't read it.
    Insisting on a test drive.

He has been trying to sell that over a year now at this stage. I originally posted it in the bangernomics thread for €950 from a different seller. The price fluctuates constantly between hilarious numbers, but €5700 is a new level of lunacy.

I think this is a different one? I viewed a blue e240 estate he had about 4 months ago but it had 148k miles on the clock and a leather interior

Actually, yes - you’re right. The other one was a D ref with a 6 digit number but I’m pretty sure it had cloth too.

Definitely two separate E240 estates in blue, the one with leather was 2000 reg and I think he was asking around €3.5k for it.

On a very good day he’ll get €1250 and on the bad he’d get sub €1k.

I think even if they reached the magic 30 year mark and road tax was €56pa it still wouldn’t be worth his asking price.

It’s hard to imagine being worth €1000 Even if it had 6 months test left on it.

    It’s a €500 car.
