    Hi AlfaGTV76,

Thank you for getting in touch.

If the property was registered with Electric Ireland when it was disconnected, and if you are choosing Electric Ireland as your billing company, we can check into this (whether there will be any information depends on how long the property has been disconnected). An electricity meter point reference number (MPRN) is considered personal data, so we would have to assist you by private message if you send us the MPRN again, address and your name.

If the property was not registered with Electric Ireland when it was disconnected though, it would be necessary to contact the company with which it was registered at the time.

If neither of the above is an option, contact ESB Networks on 1850 372 757.

Just for general information: if the property has been disconnected for less than six months, the reconnection fee is €79.45. If the property has been disconnected for more than six months and less than two years, a wiring certificate will be required for safety reasons (the cost of reconnection in this instance would be advised by ESB Networks). A wiring certificate is also required if any rewiring has been completed (even if within the last six months).

Finally, for a property that is disconnected for two years or more, an application for turning the electricity supply back on would be regarded as a new connection, and an application to ESB Networks is necessary (on the same telephone number as above).

If you would like to commence the process by messaging us here on Boards for some of the information, we will respond as soon as possible.

    Best regards,
    Una
