Mixed the good with the sloppy in the first half but has gone badly in the last 10 minutes. Terrible decision to kick away turnover ball (badly) and pass to touch in good position.

I'd imagine he's still firmly second choice though given the complete lack of game time for the others.

I'd take Stephen archer at 10 over him

    This referee hasn’t a notion.

In every bit of off the ball nonsense there’s been one common denominator, and yet the ref seems oblivious to it.

    Good to see Tommy back.

I agree with Eddie there, Best made that. Brilliant piece of play. But bad missed tackle didn't help.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,184 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

This referees interpretation of holding on is absolutely bizarre.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,432 ✭✭✭✭salmocab

Best started all that with his appalling line out and made up for it with a delightful off load.

Yeah, 2nd half is awful for him

In my defence, they've given no reason to provide faith. This is a second string Munster side which has now put their third string onto the field.

Ulster should have been aiming for a bonus win here. Should close it out now but not over yet.

Not sure there was much wrong with McCloskey's tackle there tbh.

How was that not advantage over?

What else is Botha supposed to do when the ball pops out at his feet?

    Truly bizarre call there

Very poor refereing display so far for both sides

Playing the ball on the floor, Munster penalty,

Is that the 3rd HIA in this game?

Challenge in the lineout for fup sake!

I truly do not understand what Munster thought would happen if they didn't compete, Ulster maul clearly on top.

    Go for the bonus :)

Think the wrong Ulster back row got MOTM there.

Munster will be very happy with a losing bonus point from that given the team they sent.

They should be disappointed not to win based on the game.

    Good win.

Munster are limited when they have to pass it more than once in a phase.

Great job from Johnston to kick that.

    Well deserved LBP for Munster,
Good result considering the team that was sent up.

One phase that’s all. The rest is just pass to your winger ASAP. Juvenile stuff.

Munster are the Dennis Bergkamp of rugby....

I really hope to never see JJ in a Munster jersey ever again, at best he is average and more often than not he's not at his best.

JJ couldn’t run a raffle, he is not a ten.

Since mannix. In between they’d at least take the ball to the line, now it’s just reverted.

There are 5 x Munster 10s about whom that could be said at the moment.

From what I've seen of Johnson I've been impressed. But JJ is so terrible, that you'd have to question JVG coaching credentials because he keeps picking him.

Yea it’s all very predictable. Teams just need to muscle up and they’ll deal with Munster, not much brains required.

I would question his credentials in general , munster have been going backwards

There's a lot of nonsense being said on this thread.

Munster will be happy with the away LBP given that we rested so many players but Ulster are also lucky to have gotten that win given their own performance.

That last try was a direct result of a brainless referee decision and the whole game has to be seen in the context of that 12th second tackle which was clearly a red card.

That said, Ulster have improved a lot since their 60 point capitulation earlier this year #salty #whineymunsterfan

I wonder if they would be better served by playing Johnson or Keatley?
I know Keatley has his own issues, but JJ is not a 10. At best he's AIL standard.
