Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Question about Concrete Step Barriers (on M7)

    Hi

I am hoping someone can put me out of my misery!

Over the last couple of months, I have watched everyday the construction of the concrete step barriers on the new M7 widening works on the Naas Road between junction 9 and 10.

I hadn't taken much notice of them before now but when you're travelling at 60 Km/h, there's not much else to do!

Anyway, my question is, why do the make a cut in the freshly built barrier every 8 feet or so, going from top to bottom? At first, I guessed it would be to allow for expansion, but then I think that concrete doesn't expand like steel does?

Hopefully someone here can help me!

    Thanks
