It just seems a bit pearl clutching to suggest certain threads need to be censored.

Have you noticed there are AH "new" rules against drugs discussions ... not sure what era they are from, and what were the reasons for bringing them up.
But could same reasons apply for other categories ?

You mean discussing where people could buy drugs?

You can't be serious?? Also its not the sites responsibility to monitor what your children read.
Aye, that's the job of the adult/parent in the room. Then again too many want others to take responsibility for everything, so they have someone to blame, anyone but themselves.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Only read the first line ?
It follows with the "how to" part
    - Asking / telling how to take drugs.
    - Asking / telling how to grow drugs.

I have a good sense of humor and I do find that thread funny I am just a little bit confused as to question if this kind of thing is allowed here or not?

Talking about it is allowed but actual anal sex is not allowed here.

Yea. My 11 year old is traumatised after reading about anal sex on his Boards account.

I had a quick read of the charter. It makes sense to me that we shouldn't post information that may get Boards in to legal difficulty, such as "find me a cocaine dealer". This is because the use of drugs is illegal in Ireland. Having sex, be it anal, oral, or vaginal, is not illegal between consenting adults. Discussion of such activity therefore is interesting, potentially informative, and maybe mind opening.

While the parents are responsible for what their kids are allowed to do online, I think content inappropriate/harmful to minors needs to be classified as such on public forums.

Also, think there would be some legislation coming from EU that puts emphasis on online age verification.

    - really, nothing new or mind opening for my age group on that thread. lots of junk !

Family friendly? Sure, for the Osbourne family maybe.

May I ask what it is about that thread in particular which you find inappropriate?
Is it purely in case an underage person reads it or are you yourself offended by it?

IMO some posts go beyond the usual lighthearted discussions about anal (went into the "HOW" too much).

But each with own fetishes. I am an adult, and I can skip/ignore junk.

Issue with underage is two folded: they could not only read, I assume there is nothing stopping them from engaging in conversations, or is it ?

    - So this thread is very good one, as this subject needs to be discussed.

PS: - think in case a novice is really looking for information, so much on that thread about anal might be ... misconstrued.

Your opinion is absolutely valid because it is your opinion. There are plenty of threads that I either have no interest in or find distasteful for whatever reason. Thats my own stuff and I won't presume that the other posters here feel the same or need to be parented in some way.

Its not fair to expect the forum to ban certain topics just because you find them a bit much. Nor is it fair to expect boards to censor material in case child gets a hold of mam or dads phone. We live in a world full of potential danger and inappropriate imagery. Thats life.
You have the ultimate responsibility for what your children read or watch.

I Remember a thread about sex on your period being closed because the mods thought it was inappropriate, as there may be some younger people reading.........

I've stated my opinion on a more generic agenda. I'm not expecting my opinion is liked by users, but I would hope it is read by ppl who can decide what is the vision for a forum like this, within contemporary legal boundaries.
    - T&C can be renewed periodically, I am sure there is always something we can improve on.
Its not fair to expect the forum to ban certain topics just because you find them a bit much. Nor is it fair to expect boards to censor material in case child gets a hold of mam or dads phone. We live in a world full of potential danger and inappropriate imagery. Thats life.

Didn't say ban. I've always said ... categorize, and there is a difference. Yes, ppl want to enjoy the little freedoms. But sometimes it only takes one to ruin it for all of us.

    - Happy Xmas you all !

I don't care if it's family friendly or not but I'm sick of looking at the thread title every time I come into after hours. Can it be moved to a more appropriate forum?

Wow - thanks for this new thread.
Agreed : that thread is terrible (and I just voted on that) and I fear under 12 can stumble upon it and use it as source of information.
Think the OP is too young/mad to figure out how poor what she did is.

How MODs can ensure kids don't find ****e on AH ? do we need a sub-forum for over 18 ???
... I find it really confusing that a thread on anal sex is allowed.

I am not being sarcastic here I am obviously missing something here but whenever I use a rude word I always black it out fully or in part.

Ah lads, don't be so... anal!

Is Anal Sex a rude word, I’d thought the Irish has grown up from those notions ?

It's definitely not a rude word. Two rude words, perhaps.

After hours was never met to be family friendly ever.

It has been watered down so much especially in the last 5 years or so it may lead the the p.c bergade to believe so.
The anal thread is so funny and is a throw back to old afterhours threads it funny as ****.
