    Hi,

Are there any Dolby Atmos home theater systems with wireless rear systems available? There only seems to be dolby atmos receivers.

    Could you recommend something?

    Thanks

    Hey TheBigEvil.

    Thanks for the post.

Any of the normal Atmos setups we would sell would all require wires between the speakers and the receiver.

There are a few of the top of the range Atmos soundbars that you can connect product specific wireless rears to.
The Samsung 950 coming in at £1399 has a form of wireless rear speaker.

LG's SK10Y priced at £749 also allows for LG's own SPK8 kit to connect wireless and run as rears. (Purchased separately)

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm looking for something to replace my Sony BDV E780W, which has wireless rear speakers. And as I was looking to replace it, as it is starting to act up on me, I was looking to see what was available with dolby Atmos.

How  do the soundbars stack up against an existing 5.1 system? With Dolby Atmos, would they be a good replacement?

Also, does the player (either Blu ray or 4k) have to have dolby atmos, or is that purely the receiver and speakers?

    Hi TheBigEvil,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.

A 5.1 system is still the best way to go but the Atmos soundbars do sound incredible and would give a better sound than a cheaper 5.1 system. The Sony Atmos bars are great, as is the Samsung HWN950.

The player would need to be rated as Dolby Atmos in order to read the soundtrack, they're usually available in 4K players.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
