Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Be aware of the Ts&Cs

    https://www.2018popemedal.ie/terms-and-conditions/

    One of which says...
    Payment

    Where supported by your card type (e.g. Visa MasterCard, Visa Debit, etc.), by making a purchase under these terms and conditions you are granting continuous payment authority on your card. This will be used for your subscription payments.

    You understand that, once granted, continuous payment authority shall remain in force until you instruct a cancellation of the continuous payment authority in writing by sending an email to customercare@dublinmintoffice.ie

    In the event that you are not willing to grant continuous payment authority, you should contact us to make an alternative arrangement to pay for your order.

     In the event of non-payment we reserve the right to:

    9.1. Charge interest on overdue invoices at a rate of 4% above the base rate of lending rate in force from time to time of the Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland and accrued on a daily basis from the date payment became due to the date of receipt of cleared funds.

    9.2. Charge a late payment fee for overdue invoices plus an additional fee to cover expenses incurred in providing the buyer with written or verbal reminders, or for passing the overdue debt to a solicitor or authorised third party for legal proceedings or for tracing & collection.

    9.3. Charge a fee to cover the costs and administration incurred by the seller for processing unpaid cheques, direct debits, declined, refused, rejected or disputed card payments and for processing rejected or refused payments for other payment types not mentioned.

    9.4. Charge a fee for providing the buyer or an authorised third party for the retrieval, copying and despatch of copy invoices or statements.

    9.5. Suspend or cancel an application, order or account without notice.

    Same company also sells a certain illness awareness medal for 19.95+3.95p&p...
    For each stunning commemorative purchased, we will make a donation!
    ...but no mention how much the donation is!

    Best thing to do for any of these "potential subscription" services is to use a prepay card or a virtual card. Only can be charged once

    From the t&c's quoted above
    In the event of non-payment we reserve the right to:

    9.1. Charge interest on overdue invoices at a rate of 4% above the base rate of lending rate in force from time to time of the Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland and accrued on a daily basis from the date payment became due to the date of receipt of cleared funds.

    9.4. Charge a fee for providing the buyer or an authorised third party for the retrieval, copying and despatch of copy invoices or statements.

    9.5. Suspend or cancel an application, order or account without notice.

    Once they have your contact details- they'll hound you to hell and back. Vatican medal or no Vatican medal ....

    Interesting. From https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=74543202&postcount=97 it seems the company is illegally using the harp symbol. I wonder if they're allowed to use it on their gold coins that they are selling?

    The Dublin Mint is a company that seems to be legal but I see many posts linking them to "alleged" fraud. However, it seems that only the advertising board of Ireland has challenged them for misleading ads.

    A search of the Irish companies registry office shows they are registered, with address c/o, www.osk.ie. A screen grab from their web page is:

    ===================

    Advising Irish Business
    OSK are recognised as one of Ireland’s leading audit and accounting firms providing quality and professional business advice to Irish businesses including SMEs, multi-national groups, government bodies and sole traders since 1985.

    OSK offer expertise in audit and accounting services, business advisory, accountants for contractors, small business support, taxation, payroll, bookkeeping and management accounting. Contact OSK today to find out more about our professional accounting services.

    ===================

    An auditing & accounting firm seems to be their registered business address - strange.

    My advice - Stay away from this "Free" offer. I recall an eye beauty product that sounds very similar to this that was discussed at length on the Joe Duffy show.

    They were using the Brian Boru harp in their logo. They ceased as some boards users pointed out that this is reserved for government departments and offices. You can see the old logo here https://web.archive.org/web/20110618042429/http://www.dublinmintoffice.ie:80/

    Everything about them is questionable, I can’t believe they continue to operate and exploit people.

    They even duped boards into allowing them have an official presence here.

    What really annoys me this time around is that Breast Cancer Ireland now seem to be caught up with them. https://www.2pink.ie I wonder how much do Breast Cancer Ireland actually get and do Dublin Mint Office continue to send out coins and charge people who have signed up to help Breast Cancer Ireland?
