What point are you trying to make?

Most people don't like subtitled films and would dismiss it immediately because of that.

    You're contradicting yourself.
those that do are just miserable or just have very poor taste.

And my point was you're just dismissing everyone who disagrees with you because you think you've got better taste for watching a Mexican movie. Hence the

That's godawful faff though so the point stands. It's horrendous.
Low bar there as to what constitutes horrendous.

    Spot on.

Sky = Monthly Subscription €20+ plus rent fee per movie for watching other movies.

Netflix = Monthly Subscription €10.99 (HD) and watch as many movies/shows/TV as you like with no extra charges.

I pay €14.00 per month to cover enough screens for me, my wife, our two daughters, my mother, and my sister in the UK to use it too. I think that's for four simultaneous streams but we've never had any clashes yet. It's a bargain.

I share a Netflix subscription with a relative. For a tiny outlay it's an incredible offering, I don't expect the latest blockbuster movies to be available to me for less than the price of a cinema ticket, so I think people complaining about that should examine their expectations. It's amazing value for what you get, there are plenty of movies and the Netflix original series are usually really good, and it's improving constantly. It costs buttons for what you get, and if you share a sub you halve that again.

I don't even mind the auto trailers.

I think the problem with Netflix is that it's content looks large but it is limited. If I am going to pay for it it has to give me everything I want otherwise I'll just download the stuff it doesn't provide, for free, elsewhere. And If I'm going to do that I might as well watch everything I want for free and not subscribe to any streaming service at all.

Not everyone wants to pirate stuff though. And to be fair, I don't expect any platform to give me everything I want for such a bargain price. If you want all the bells and whistles, you have to pay bell and whistle money and the Netflix sub is a pittance.

I am sure many people are also sharing a subscription, so its effectively half price.

For that, it really is a bargain.

And then complain that the quality is not up to your exacting standards because the money to make quality content has dried up (because everybody has been taking it for free, no doubt because they feel entitled to it):rolleyes:

There is no evidence that this is what has actually happened though.

Apparently Dear White People is going to be taken off Netflix. While I don't give a shite about Dear White People and hadn't planned on watching it, it's a Netflix Original and I'd never heard of these being deleted before. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come.

I really don't see where I'm contradicting myself.

I also don't think I've got better taste but I do think I'd have a broader taste (which is different) which means I won't immediately dismiss a film because it's subtitled as many do.

I think Netflix have a good mixture of films and are also getting into producing decent big films themselves such as "The Ballad of Buster Scraggs" or "Bird Box" but many people would regard Netflix's choice as poor as they don't have the big blockbusters that Sky have.
