Baxi boiler e164

    Gas boiler stopped working Christmas day (of course) its a baxi megaflow installed about 10 plus years ago error E164 displayed. Pressure displayed is 2bar plumber had a quick look and says its the pcb board. A few issues began coupke of days before, only upstairs rads were working, but this was resolved by turning off some of the upstairs rads, and everything seemd fine that was Christmas eve. Next day bolier stopped working. Also have noticed water is coming from overflow outlet in eaves every so often,dont know if connected. Because of time of year it looks like pcb board can't be sourced till Wednesday of this week. Taking the age of this bolier would i be better just pricing a new one.?

    There probably is a more effiicent boiler out there. Do no harm in pricing an alternative. But the PCB may allow the boiler to function for another few years.

    Water coming out the overflow from the tank in that attic wouldn't neccesary be related to the boiler. You'd need to check the ballcock incase it isn't isolating the water into the tank.

    Boilers are usually reliable and when they start then usually continue to act up, but not always the case.
