Anyone here have posture related problems from too much sitting incorrectly?

I gave the last 15+ years sitting 8 hours a day at a PC with bad posture and it's only late last year it finally caught up on me - back pain, and lately bad burning neck pain.

It got to the stage that I was dreading sitting at the desk. My job is desk based and there's not much choice for me to be sitting 8 hours a day - it hit my productivity big time at work. Plus, my gaming desktop ended up remaining powered off for weeks on end.

Thankfully though over the last few weeks, I've mastered good upright sitting posture along with getting back to my fitness regiment and it's pretty much fixed everything for me. I can enjoy a bit of gaming in the evening once more after a productive day at work.

I wish I realized the importance of good sitting posture years back.

Will work spash out on a stand/sit desk?

Would you not get one of those desks that can change on the fly from standing to sitting. So you can change it up standing for a while and then sitting and keep changing throughout the day as it's not a great idea to spend 8 hours standing despite what standing desks sale people may tell you.

I know it's in work but just explain to the boss you are thinking of buying one out of your own money to use in work. It would be well worth the investment.

A good adjustable chair is important as well and yeah you should be taking regular standing breaks.

Your monitors center should be at your eye level as well sitting or standing.

Good exercise and stretches are important as well. Gotta stretch those hip flexors as they get real tight from sitting and will have a knock on effect on your back.

I actually find the chair doesn't do very much if you sit with good posture. It's certainly not nearly as important as I thought it was.

Good posture, good core strength and regular breaks throughout the day have pretty much done the trick for me. Don't think there's a need to go down the route of the Sit-Stand desk yet anyway.

Definitely pay attention to your posture, if you disregard it - it'll come back to bite you!

Anybody in here handy with soldering ?

Removed my vega 64 to sell, took waterblock off and fitted stock cooler on. Fan doesnt come in at all. Card boots and drivers installed. Only a fan issue. Double le checked its connected properly and it is.

Noticed a burnt component on the pcb which from I can tell on google its related to fan control. I believe I have found the right component I need to buy online.

I need it replaced, I could attempt it myself but reaching out first.

    Any help is appreciated

Seems like it would be easier to sell with the block.

100% scam. The price is ridiculous. Look at their other listings, they have plenty. Nearly everything is priced in multiples of 100, they don't look like real prices. Feel free to buy a couple, I'll play you +10% over your costs + shipping if it's real!!!

Thought alright was way too good to be real, especially with OC version being cheaper than the standard. The search continues

I bought an Rtx 2080 from them a year or so ago from them without issues but I'm based in Germany.

Turns out they don't ship to Ireland, thought it was too good to be true

Back to searching for a needle in a haystack then!

Guys, where I can have a look at decent prebuilts outside of Alienware. Though they have updated their AMD line with new cpus and gpus.

Considering whole UK situation now, it really limits options. I used pcspecialist for my laptop over a year ago. I presume now theu are a no go.

I just read on here in another thread that caseking.de ship to Ireland. I do not know much about them or how their pricing structure is but I do know a lot of German retailers do not ship outside of Germany. And UK retailers do not since since brexit either.

My new 5600x arrived last week and the box was damaged. I thought nothing of it as the cpu clamshell holder looked ok.

Went to install it today and found 2 bent pins
It can be hard to rma for bent pins as normally they blame the user.

I managed to fix them luckily so all good :D
    Phew....

I was just about to say bend them back as it was always the way even with Intel back in the day.

Something let out the magic smoke in my home server last night. Not grounding but tripping the breaker, two inline 13As intact. Hoping t'fúck its just the SFX PSU.

You still using that ITX time bomb mobo? Hopefully wasn't that.

Twas the PSU. Slightly swollen 400v (chonky) cap. Makes sense as the culprit as it was enough to trip an MCB.

New one is a v2, and Silverstone have some V3s which makes me think there was a reason to revise them.

Not entirely sure about that as I don't think they had even released any first party games for it in the end, they'd assisted on one or two titles but never any Google made games from the studio.

I do agree though that it's probably not going to last long regardless.

At least you didn't have to go replacing the board.

What PSU do you have again? Cause there's an ST30SF sitting in mine that I'm now thinking I might check the next time I'm back there.

From what I have heard from a Friend who uses it Stadia works really well. However, I think Microsoft are in a great position to dominate this area. Their server infrastructure is on a par with Google's with Game Pass and the IP/dev companies they own, they will be hard to compete with.
