Looking for holiday ideas with 2.5 year old

Hi folks,

We're getting around to organising the holiday for this year, and I'm stumped on what to do. So was hoping to get some ideas from others.

Basically, it'll be myself, the wife, and our 2 year old son (3 in August).

Thinking of going sometime in May-June, before it gets too expensive.

We'd like somewhere sunny, and with a good play facilities for our son. I know a lot of hotels advertise play areas, but it's hard to know whether they're any good.

We'd also like a decent hotel bar and restaurant, since hunting around for somewhere to eat is just too stressful.

A nice to have would be a beach or park (or both) close by

Somewhere in France or Spain would be good, but the UK, Netherlands and Belgium are all within cheap flight distance and the weather is generally better than here.

If anyone has any recommendations of areas to look, or specific resorts please let us know.

Algarve but go east of faro between faro and the Spanish border.
It's more Portuguese orientated and a lot more family friendly

Here are two all inclusive places that we really enjoyed when our first was a similar age. both have family rooms with divided bedrooms so you have some privacy when the baby is gone to bed.

Both have kids clubs and playgrounds and are beside beaches. The Merlin room in the Lanzorote one is fab as it comes packed with age appropriate toys and a tent to play in.

There's a cool little beach right beside this holiday village, if you want to relax at night while junior plays around in the sand I'd say give it a whirl. It's great for both adults and kids, everything you need is on site.
