I did laugh at that one.

Was anyone expecting a bit more from FTR/Kenny Hangman, not sure if was just me but it was almost booked as an FTR victory lap. I get that was probably the idea, but they could have made Kenny Hangman's defence a bit more exciting while still being able to have Kenny walking away in disgust at the end.

Bad show overall. And the WWE bashing is pathetic and bush league. It has a distinct Voodoo Kin Mafia whiff off it.
If I promoted a show like that last night I wouldn't be throwing stones.

Ah, saw that but didn't even think of it as a dig, but obvious now.

So a fan rushed up to Moxley during his entrance and was tackled. From show you would think it was a kid but another angle

What does JR add to AEW?

He can't even be bothered to dress for the event, he sounds bored 98% of the time, he derisively comments on wrestlers and spots he doesn't like, he gets names wrong and he's the stereotypical dirty old man salivating over young women.

When Mauro is finished with his time off AEW should be throwing money at him.

I think Excalibur, tony and taz are good enough team to carry the shows

PPV was a bit of a shambles overall tbh.
Britt v Swole was nothing special. Seemed strange to call it a cinematic match as well, there was nothing cinematic about it, it was just filmed elsewhere. I think the 'cinematic match' term has to be refined a bit as it was it was fine.
Young Bucks v. Jurassic Express was very solid, not much to say about it really. Was pretty much as expected but really good.
Casino Battle Royale was pretty messy. The whole suit of cards thing seemed a bit overwrought. Felt a bit structureless as a royale, there wasn't many cool spots or moments to make it worthwhile. Will Hobbs came off looking good so interested to see more of him. Cage/Archer face off was well done too. Sydal botch was unfortunate. That Darby bump was absolutely wreckless and unnecessary. Just seemed like something that there was no safe way of doing it.
Matt Hardy v. Sammy Guevara. Jesus F'n Christ. This was inexcusable. The spot itself probably should have been set-up better, needed more tables for one. The only one who came off well out of this was Aubrey Edwards for calling it off. He was clearly badly hurt, the fact they let it continue and then had him climb something is appalling. Honestly feels like AEW showing their indie wrestling side to a negative degree. This should have been scrapped and they deserve all the heat that they get for letting it continue. I don't want to see Matt Hardy in this day and age doing risky daredevil spots. The retirement stip was dumb and telegraphed the end anyway they could have just written around it.
Thunder Rosa v Shida was one of the few brigh spots on the card, hope we see more Thunder Rosa, great match.
Dark Order vs Nightmare families this gets a bit whatever out of me like most of the Nightmare family stuff or whatever they call themselves. Just didn't feel like the card needed it, did like Dustin's promo though.
FTR vs. Omega & Page this didn't land for me the way I hoped it would, don't know what it was but it felt lacking. Interested in the angle with Omega though.
OC vs Jericho was a bit of a dud, really suffered from not having a massive crowd too though, just fell flat.
MJF vs. Mox was better than expected but still nothing amazing, MJF just doesn't do much for me in the ring and I'm starting to feel like Moxley's reign is a little lacklustre. As pointed out ending was obvious after battle royale.

On another note, JR's comments are pretty reprehensible, just creepy and weird. I just don't know what he offers on commentary in 2020 I'm sorry to say.

Overall the PPV showed a lot of the flaws that AEW have and just didn't land as a whole for me.

Not to sound callous but Matt being Matt I'm sure he'll monetise this and sell a few t-shirts.

AEW have been great coring the fact that there has been no fans with there TV and Dark episodes however PPV's are different you need that fan energy for your big events now no one can blame then for the lose of fans or holding PPV as the company needs to survive and fans at home want to see these PPV, So maybe we the fans have to expect that little bit less till the world starts to heal and a cure is found.

If you take out the with the Britt/Swole & Matt/Sammy matches and have a live crowd for that PPV I think all the matches improve dramatically as the wrestlers would be feeding off that energy including the battle royal.

JR is just bad for he product.

Excalibur, Tony, Taz and I would add Veda to that are all really good and professional and also seem to be having fun which also adds so much to the product.

I'm all about Eddie Kingston's line during the week of not knowing whether to date Rick Starks or fight him. :P Criminal to be that good on the mic and not quite have the in ring quality to back it up. Mind you I'm only going on based of what I've seen of Eddie in the last 12 months.

I love how JR apologised on Twitter by saying it was a bad go at humour and then signs of his tweet saying Lighten Up ha.

100% agree JR brings nothing to the announcing table and he is clearly there for the $$$.

Overall the PPV was fairly meh and i do think the lack of audience was one of the issues(which unfortunately is out of AEW's control).

Hardy/Sammy was a **** up and they only have themselves to blame sadly after that bump, they could have ended it then and then do a rematch in a few weeks. Now im no doctor but surely in any sport if some gets a concussion like Matt def had they would not let them compete as you could see when Sammy was dragging him his legs were barely moving.

Hopefully they can reset on Dynamite and try recoup some flatness from the ppv going forward.

Its great that we are clearly getting a heel Elite which will be fresh

One thing I meant to say about the battle royale is using the tacks was a stupid idea. Not so much about Darby, but then they were still on the mat afterwards and were ignored. Someone should've made it a point to clear them. They were dangerous. People were landing on them and not reacting. I remember seeing one in Archer's back at one point. Then people could've landed on them in an awkward way, either on their hands or head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,616 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

The body bag spot I think could have worked if there were 3/4 left and Cage and Starks who had been eliminated earlier and ran back in to take out Darby leaving him in the body bag for Archer to throw out onto Kingston and The Butcher to win it.

Poor PPV overall. Lack of fans is a big issue but I think the heat in Florida as well is having an affect on standards. Everyone looks bolloxed a few mins into a match.

I see Reby has locked her twitter to approved followers now. Seems she got fed up of people acting like they know more than her about Matt.

Khan is making a balls of this whole situation.

Allowing the match to continue was the wrong call. Aubrey stopped it, whether the docs checked Matt or not, they didnt have enough time to evalute him properly. Allowing him to continue risked his life and Sammys. Allowing a man to climb a ladder after a nasty head injury is negligent.

Theres no way a doc had enough time to full evaluate him. He was unconscious, match should be over there and then.

Matt could have lost consciousness again climbing the ladder, putting his life and potentially Sammys in danger. All for the sake of a cheap angle.

    Really bad call.

Khans scrambling is desperate. Hes clearly wrong here.

Poor PPV overall. Lack of fans is a big issue but I think the heat in Florida as well is having an affect on standards. Everyone looks bolloxed a few mins into a match.

WWE had better shows with Summerslam and Payback. WWEs production made a huge difference in helping them over these two shows.

AEW had a practicality empty open air stadium, and what fans they did have were too far away. It just made it seem so uninteresting

WWE didnt have home run shows, but they did have plenty to hide their weaknesses. The run time of matches was much better, no match seemed like too much of a choir. They didnt over book the stips here, unlike Extreme Rules.

They also had a big angle which helps the show overall. AEW had plenty of poor matches that were either boring or didnt click or had no real build.

What should have been a great opportunity to make a mark, the show just failed on many levels.

The match I paid to see, FTR vs Hangman Omega, just didnt click. It happens. Nothing bad, no ones fault, but iy was disappointing.

The Main Event was good but it was never a big match as MJF never looked like winning.

Jericho v OC was just boring. Jericho is over the hill as an in ring talent.

Hardy v Sammy was a mess. Very poorly booked, the accident could have been avoided. Also a backstage match wasnt what I was expecting.

Bakers 'match' was a mess. Shoe horned into the show and did nothing for all involved which is a shame.

The BR was not well booked. Seemed like a big cluster. Hated the body bag and snake bits. Both unnecessary spots, with no real heat prior to either. Sydal was an underwhelming mystery man but his botch made up for it. Hilatiously bad

The womens title match was very good and well done for AEW for presenting an outsider as a legit challenger. Very refreshing and both worked hard.

JE v the Bucks was the match of the night and AEW did a good job of making me care about a match thrown together. Jungle Boy was the MVP here, so smooth and effortless.

The man was the wrong call. An attempt to gey evevryine involved on the show. Dustin getting killed by Lee was the better match to put on, not this bore. God Im sick of Codys cronnies and Sky is above this. I still enjoy Lee and Colt though.

Overall a poor show. Poor matches, horrible accidents and no big angles.

Though I still loved the Sydal botch. Give him a silver helmet next time.

How can he not have a concussion? He cracked the back of his head on the ground from a 10-12 foot drop?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,080 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Did Darby get the loudest reaction of the night? I just remember hearing the reaction to his music. It's mad how over he is.

Tony Khan should swallow his ego and own up to this. Apologize for it and work harder to ensure this doesn't happen again.

I stayed up for a bit of this last night but after about 90mins I gave up on it.
Just starting to get a TNA-feel to it and echo the comment above about Cody's cronies.
The main event title scene is fairly dull too now by the looks of it.

I seriously wonder why alot of people watch AEW when all they do is whinge and moan and bitch and constantly put it down at every opportunity.

I also really don't get why some people have to repeat themselves over and over repeatedly like a broken record as well.If you don't like it then stop watching it like I did years ago when I stopped watching WWE.

I for one really enjoyed All Out and AEW has been a breath of fresh air to me and brought back my interest and love for wrestling.

Loved the main event,Jericho and OC as well as the Battle Royal and Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus vs The Young Bucks.Shidas match with Thunder Rosa was great too and I really enjoyed Omega and Page against FTR as well.

100% agree. He looks great for his age but I've no interest in a 50 yo Dustin Rhodes in 2020 (never been interested in him tbh and I've been watching wrestling for 23 years). QT ****ing Marshall kicking out of so many big moves was a joke as well. Also can't stand Brandi. No one in the whole of AEW has more go away heat with me. Terrible in the ring and seems to switch from heel to babyface and back again every few weeks. An even worse version of Stephanie McMahon and I didn't think that was possible.

I have really enjoyed AEW but they haven't capitalised on the heights of the Brodie Lee win episode since I think. That's a hard feat of course but I was close to switching off All Out last night. Thankfully Mox/MJF was a bit better than most on the card. Very disappointed in FTR/Hangman/Kenny - solid match as to be expected but nothing blow away.

That said, I'll be trying to get tickets for Full Gear and will keep up with it, but it's not the Wednesday night must watch event for me anymore.

It's possible to really like AEW and still see it's flaws. They can always do better and All Out showed a lot of ways in which they need to improve.

I thought Dustin had his retirement match a while back

As a whole AEW has been a welcome breathe of fresh air. They arent perfect but they do more good than bad. They need to be supported.

That said their show was dire overall and its as open to criticism. Im mot gonna blindly an AEW fan boy who thinks everything is awesome when its not. I feel most matches on the card either failed to hit the mark or were booked poorly.

I paid my money to watch FTR v Hangman and Omega, specifically the progression of the Page Kenny Feud. Overall the PPV disappointed but it happens. Not everything can be a home run and I will continue to support them.

The tag title match was full of hard work but they just didnt click as opppnents. A hot crowd would probably made this match great, but the thats not possible.

It was be no means a bad match but it was uninspiring and went on too long.

I didn’t stay up till near 5 am just so I can come on here to complain but if it’s a disappointing show you have to say it
