Electric Chainsaw for blocking lengths in yard

Brought a load of lengths into yard and toying with idea of getting an electric chainsaw to block them. Close enough to a power supply. Thinking be good enuf advantage in that easy enough to maintain, no mixing fuel, lighter etc Are they man enough for say thick branches? Any recommendations?
