Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just seen the 3rd goal...unreal from the main man. Good job he wasn’t dropped for Sturridge to give him a ‘kick up the ar*e’.

    The goals:

This one deserves a second angle just to show off Keita's pass (also Salah impersonating Shaqiri with his celebration)

Very good performance, needed that badly, thought Naby done well hopefully he can get a bit of confidence and push on, the ability is there he just needs to believe in himself.

Watching the Bayern Munich game on bt sport 3, they are very slow at the back.

Good to see Origi get minutes as well he adds something physical to the front line.

I thought this really was a game were we might have made changes at 70 min mark.

I know we've a light schedule for a while but still.

  • Registered Users Posts: 572 ✭✭✭Buddy97mm

A special word for Millie today, thought he was excellent at RB, getting in behind numerous times and dangerous throughout. And of course seamlessly slotted in for Gini when he was taken off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 683 ✭✭✭PhuckHugh

We're roughly at the equivalent of the 70 minute mark holding a one goal lead .... Time for everyone to dig in and see it out

To be fair it's not just physical. Origi has demonstrated an ability to play ball with the front three and not look out of place while doing so.

I wouldn't count him out at the club yet by any means.

Who is the We're you speak off?

Surely it would be foolish of fan's from outside of Liverpool to speak as we.

Superb performance by all the players today. Unlucky not to have scored 2 or 3 more.

Keita had his best game for us, very promising for the rest of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Keita starting not to look "shy " out thete , looks like starting to feel part of the team now on merit ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Mane as many goals as Hazard now ,
He really has everything as an attacker ,worls so so hard
I think he misses so many chances because of the sheer amount of work he gets through and the fact he is full throtle for a whole game its harder to stay focused

Superb player with a great attitude, he really stood out for me in the west ham game, came deep so many times on order to inject some urgency into the attack.

Everyone mate, it was the royal 'we' -- 'It is' the 70th minute mark would probably have better - But I wasnt talking in terms of specific group.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    And?

We've won 2 of our last 5 games. Tonight we only got a point thanks to a dodgy offside. Against Leicester we were hopeless. We conceded three at home to Palace.

There is no point in us acting the ostrich, our form is poor. We've hit a spell where we are really struggling, if it doesn't get fixed right away we can forget about a title. Not really sure how it's negative to point that out.

    We won today:).

Right then, view from the stands....

.....that was wonderful. From about the 10th minute in, when we hit our straps, we looked brilliant. Once the first goal came, some of our interplay was sumptuous. I came away from that wondering who our man of the match was because we had so many outstanding performers.
Salah though, what a burden he carries for this team. He was everywhere today, his footwork sensational. They doubled up on him but they simply couldn't handle him. Fabinho built the base from midfield, Gini was outstanding and Keita finally looked like he belongs. Nothing sensational, but it's amazing what a run of games has done for his confidence.
Andy Robertson was absolutely everywhere. AND, best of all, the atmosphere from start to finish was bloody good and sustained throughout. In the programme, both Klopp and Henderson were at pains to point out the importance of playing at home and the atmosphere we can create. Well done Boardsies!
A vital win in many ways, especially with United next up. That's made me feel a lot more confident heading there. A brilliant day.

He means we as in the football team not the city....thought that would be obvious given the thread we're in

    It's hard to know really.

I think we only counts when it comes to hurling to that poster.
    We?

Anyway, what station is broadcasting this game?

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=105334619&postcount=3879
    We?

I'm just curious about who the Irish chap was referring to when he said we?

View from the stands.. thoroughly professional performance.
So many positives but most importantly 3 precious points and we have our confidence back in spades.
Atmosphere was very good. Kop were in fine voice. Upstairs in The 12th Man afterwards, nice presentation by the chairman of Seán Cox's gaa club of a jersey, 22 came over from the club for the match.
First time enjoying Executive Box treatment.....it really is a different level altogether...the food the drink the view...simply fantastic!

    Onwards and upwards.
    Come On The Pool !!

So Gini had an exceptional performance and it seems he wasn't at 100%. Love the last line from Klopp.

"Last night, Gini was not in the team hotel because he had pretty much everything you don’t want to have the day before a game,” the manager said. “Then after a couple of hours’ sleep he told me that he felt good and could play. He played and he was brilliant. My only concern after that was that he scored a goal and everybody wanted to give him a hug."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭mosstin

I think Klopp has wanted Gini, Fabinho and Keita as his first choice midfield all along so it's great to see them together today and all of them excelling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,588 ✭✭✭cmac2009

Also found this quote interesting, I wonder what he is referring to - possibly the bug the Virgil had? Maybe some others too

"We had difficulties before with players out, there were reasons why we didn’t play well that we cannot speak about too much in public but we are very self-critical"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

I think it was reported during the week that a lot more of the players had the bug other than VVD.

  • Registered Users Posts: 572 ✭✭✭Buddy97mm

Would be a lot easier to understand our flat performances if a lot of players had suffered that sickness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

So the talk over the last few days that we are sh1t as set pieces is wrong.

16 goals from them this season so far excluding pens.
12 Only Liverpool (16) have scored more goals from set piece situations (excluding penalties) than Brighton this season (12). Drilled.

    Very good performance. WWDDW, 11 / 15

I’ll take it from an injury ridden period.

The bottom line is that we may end up losing the league with 90+ points. And if that happens so be it. I don’t have it in me to be critical of a team working towards this type of end of season total. It’s nothing but support and hope the rest of the way. These are great days.

A big shout out to Mr. Versatility himself - and captain, couple of minutes after the final whistle, he walked around and applauded the 4 stands and there was a Serious response from the crowd, a real We believe it can happen moment in my opinion, you could feel the atmosphere lift.

Scary thing is it wasn’t a joke.

Klopp should be sacked and Conte hired to get us over the line this season.

Can’t believe we don’t have another league game until the manc’s in almost two weeks time!!

As KK once said, i’d Love it, absolutely love it if we beat them, and even better if we’re the first team to puncture the Ole balloon!! ( Yes, I said it!!)

Its seems set in the star either way ,
They win to send City top or we win to give Ole his first lose

That ball form Keita was pass porn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Keita actually play a part in all 3 goals. He played the pass to Milner who crossed for Mane to score, he pressed and won ball back for Robertson to play ball to Gini to score, and then he played that epic pass to Firmino for Salah to score. That is influence!

Gini's position for goal, nearest the Ref. We need to do more of that, having a midfielder run beyond the front 3, it just never happens.

Watching MOTD it's incredible we didn't get more than 3 today. Great win, this midfield looks very promising

Going to be watching that third goal for some time

As good as we've played in a while hard to fault anything bar the finishing but on another day we could have easily won 6-0.

The midfield looked great and gini is continuing to have an absolute stormer of a season. Will klopp keep it the same for united or revert to his preferred Henderson milner gini trio for the "big" games? Obviously his hands are tied for the first Munich game with van dijk suspended and no sign of lovren we might well see fabinho and matip together for that game. A big signing needed at centre half next summer needless to say...

I'm not sure how to post meme's/gif's, but this statement requires the Simpsons' "may god have mercy on us all" humorous anecdote!
