Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like both Martial and Lingard will miss the match - could be a big boost for us, particularly Martial, he's a player that I would have been worried about on the left side of their attack. Lingard seems to have a habit of getting goals in big games too.

Its huge , They need pace to keep our fullbacks honest and pushed back,
If our full backs can get forward without the worry of United in behind there in trouble ,

True, good point. Lukaku did a good job punishing Arsenal in this regard on the right side of a 3 however in the FA Cup, and Sanchez also played well in that match too.

There are question marks about both of the above and how they fit into their attack however, so I do agree it's a boost. But just that the team shouldn't be complacent and recognise there's still potentially a big threat

When did you score against HJK?

We'll only know when he plays. No doubt he'll be one of the mainstays of this summers money making friendlies and on the face of it there's no reason to think he won't fit in style wise. Keeps it on the floor, quick pass and move, not a target man, not a goal hanger.

April 1999 in a friendly under 17 tournament in Helsinki in the final
Believe it or not I scored against Celtic two in a 1-1 draw the previous year and picked up a man of the match award ,
Two proudest memories in sport so I don't mind boasting :D

I always worry when a centre forward is small it makes it extra hard to break into the first time unless our a real one in a decade talent ,

Allan has gone back home to Brazil on loan for the rest of the season to play for Fluminense.

I wonder how this will effect trying to get him a visa.

I'm confident he'll never play a competitive game for the club.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Yep, it was a strange transfer, being underage and non EU (!) it always meant he was unlikely to make a breakthrough based on points.

Brexit and the Prem is going to be one to watch. If the most hostile environment is created the values of young England/Wales born players will leap.

Has he ever played a competitive game or is he still not allowed visa wise?

I can't even remember him playing in any of our pre season friendlies!

Going by these messages Wilson received from Klopp, It looks promising that he might be given a chance.

"He dropped me a text to tell me he'd watched it and he was delighted with the performance - and the goal!" Wilson said.

"A couple of weeks ago there was another message saying, 'Good result, good goal - keep going'. When you get those texts, it is a massive boost. You know you aren't forgotten."

    I think he deserves it.

the one that changes it's name every few years, originally known as the league cup
domestic cups are yesterday's news, for years I only get upset if we get knocked out in the semi-finals/final or are beaten at Anfield by a lesser side (basically anyone who's not City)

Great, great competition. I have wonderful memories of it, especially from when I was a kid. The PL have pretty much ruined it in recent years but there's still something romantic about it.

The fact every year the station/s who have the TV rights try to defend its relevance says it all. Its only important to those who win it but for the love of god unless your a small club don't do an open top bus parade with the trophy :o

Think it's a great competition tbh.

In our case, I really wish we'd a chance to play Origi, Sturridge and a few others.

We did play them and we got knocked out!!

Then every time someone suggests dropping Firmino for Sturridge we’d only have to go back to the last fa cup game to see why it’s not a good idea.
