Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 pts, clean sheet. Unreal ppg this season. Top off-the-wall league :)

Can't complain....those who do are best ignored, imo :)

Two home league games now before a tricky looking visit to West Ham.

Not a top performance, but Mo produced a moment of magic.
Brighton fans need to invest in a smartphone to find out when a pen is a clear pen, booing Salah for being fouled

    Massive result! Onwards!

    Delighted.

    Needed after consecutive losses.

One week closer to the CBs getting fit.

Keita though, brought on to try and throw the game! Could have killed him when he lose that ball in midfield and aimed foul or when he squared to Origi instead of going to the corner.

I love when a team plays poorly it's called a professional performance, why can't people just come out and say we played badly, it's OK you know just tell it as it is and be honest

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭SM01

A few have already said it - a professional performance. Not at our fluid best but we did well given Brighton can be a tough side to break down. Fab did well at CB. Henderson calm in midfield.

City only won 6 away games all season. This is where we are winning!
    Great 3 pts

Hopefully Fab is back in the middle next game and either Gomez or Matip is back to partner VVD.

    They defended extremely well though.

That's where your jibe breaks down.

No, they are likely busy deleting the Brighton up Liverpool memes they made.
Boring game & not a great performance but the 3 points were vital after last Thursday. Isn't an easy place to go even though they played bad. Palace next Saturday at Anfield.

I thought if was a pen myself.

Literally the first home game this season Brighton haven't scored a goal in and that includes games against Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, and United. We must have done something right.

Classic Liverpool 2018/19 performance; keep 'em coming.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,348 ✭✭✭✭ricero

Outside of the top 6 Brighton have the best home record in the league. This was a great result today when you consider that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Keita comes on for 30 seconds, loses the ball because he's fouled and lads are saying his head isn't in the game.

If we managed to win the league he’d complain it’s not quite the FA Cup.

3pts but that's about as good as it got, origi was motm

Seriously, what a load of drivel.

That was a tough away tie and they won.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭osnola ibax

That was far more uncomfortable than it should have been, gave the ball away too far easily at times trying to thread balls through non existent gaps. We would have been punished by a better team.

3 points though, whilst playing poorly, Ill take that any day of the week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Also, another win and another non appearance from the other chief complainant.

Keita comes on for 30 seconds, loses the ball because he's fouled and lads are saying his head isn't in the game.

ehit was about him not heading to the corner to kill off last few seconds instead he played a speculative ball to origi risking losing posession yet again.

Love how you read what you wanted to instead of what was actually infront of you :P

9 home and 7 away games left.

Brighton fans need to invest in a smartphone to find out when a pen is a clear pen, booing Salah for being fouled

No luxury of penalty incident on replay in the stadium that you have, was an obvious pen but it might surprise you unless you are a fan of the team of attacking threat taking a pen if you can get it others may not look kindly on a reasonable sized man having a Jersey tug amazingly taking him to the turf so easily.

Those were the games Liverpool were losing 1-0 or drawing last few seasons

I was actually really impressed, we were patient and took our one chance then we just controlled the game so well to close it out. It's games like this that make me believe we can win the league.

Brighton were so well drilled and gave us nothing in the first half.

Why can't you say Brighton were good and made us grind it out instead of saying we we're ****?

Allot of pressure on us to win that game, we didn't have the bottle for that last season.

Totally agree unfortunately a lot of people on here can only see things in black or white, there is no grey area for them.

If you can't appreciate the controlled quality and patient display from us today footy isn't for you. We did our task very very well against a very good team at home. Should have had at least one other goal on top to make it extra comfy but who cares.

    Solid, professional display.

    The luxury of a smartphone.

In fairness to fans (of all teams) no matter how blatant the penalty is there's no harm continually booing the player who won it, chanting 'cheat, cheat', and singing '1-0 to the referee'.
There's no actual downside and as an upside you just might convince a really weak referee that he's dropped a clanger and should consider evening it up.
