Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't think they've quite done enough to help City out.

Maybe Wolves could suck them all off as well?

Lads Wolves were never and are never going to get points tonight. Waken up and stop dreaming ladies.....

Outrageous dive from Sterling as well to win the penalty.

They only lost 1 more game away than City going into game, I had a hope they'd frustrate them.

Didn't think they'd get anything but didn't think it'd be this easy.

    Ah well.

Fairly impressive not only to jinx Wolves but Coady specifically. Thread has done a Lovren.

    Same tackle as Kompanys

I don't think they are similar at all tbh.

Kompany's was wild and high. A definite red.

This was actually somewhat controlled, he even tried to turn his foot down. A free and a yellow is what I would have thought was the max.

Its not a tackle that if the ref gave no card you'd be seeing replayed for days with people up in arms that Boly wasn't send off, imo.

Kompany's was much worse. It was higher and Kompany was actually airborne briefly.

Boly was always in control and actually kept his foot well down albeit his studs were showing as he made contact with the ball.

If it helps Liverpool are still well placed on every metric - game by game comparison with last season, Top Six mini league, 100% win record v "the rest". Heading for 95-97 points as things stand. No reason to panic.

I haven't seen even a hint of panic Corporal Jones.

Two home games next, two away for City. Could be a positive swing for us. I can so see them drawing an away game to those fighting to survive.

City have Huddersfield and Newcastle next so no worries there but then have Arsenal, Chelsea at home and Everton away.
Liverpool have to do there own work and just hope they slip up more than us.

The word slip should be banned from the thread. Never mind the other lot and rag journalists trying to casually insert the word into every day life but I bloody despair at our own fans using the word when talking about the team. :pac:

Not too concerned about Palace at home but West Ham away on 4th Feb will be tough. Nasri should be at full fitness by then and he can cause trouble. It would be a bonus if Arnoutivic is gone to China by the time we play them.

4th could be changed to mid day on the 3rd yet which is crazy. For any fans looking to book and travel

Klopp's good friend, Wagner, has left Huddersfield. He's apparently burnt out, which sounds grim enough.

Their chairman made the below statement.
“We discussed making that change immediately, but he also made it clear that he would give his all for the rest of this season before departing in the summer if we preferred. After a long discussion we all felt that David staying at the Club until the end of the season was best, but we’ve kept discussions open and we all now feel that the time is right to part ways.

“I know the term ‘mutual consent’ is often a byword for the manager being sacked in professional football, but this is a truly joint decision. David has a real, genuine love for this Club and, like me, his foremost concern in our talks has been to establish what is best for Huddersfield Town.

“I cannot thank David enough for what he has achieved. Along with his family, he will always be a friend to me and Huddersfield Town.”

Expect Klopp to be asked about him in the next press conference.

It sounds like a walk or be pushed situation
He really did the unthinkable by getting them promoted and then surviving last year, I think the chairman respects him but probably need to do something to keep them up ,

These days as a manager you cant keep your job if your getting relegated even if it was a miracle to get promoted in the first place,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

So between now and the next champions league game

Liverpool have 4 games 3 at home and 1 away.

City have 7 games two of which are against Chelsea & Arsenal and hopefully a top team in the 5th round of the FA cup.

If that's the down side of going out of the FA Cup I'm OK with it now.

Chairman literally said in his statement that wasn't the case though.

But if it was the case he wouldn't say would he,

The way I read it though is that he could have just said nothing. The fact that he went out of his way to clarify the use of the phrase 'Mutual Consent' suggests that it's actually true in this case.

    Here's a question for ye

If Gomez is back fit, do we go Fab RB Gomez CB, or Fab CB Gomez RB

Would go the second I think, but it's an interesting one.........
