Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jesus chirst, one fcuking attack and they score..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

That can always happen if the other team can bypass the press.

Could have took that on chest maybe, had the time for sure, maybe too high

When up front vd actually can't head the ball for ****

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Completely against the run of play but Palace worked that well up the pitch.

After they got away with the handball in the box.

    How's Keita doing?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

We've been pretty toothless today. Midfield ain't up to much as Fabinho and Henderson are doing the same role; Keita has been poor so far. Hope he silences me but I think he'll make way at half time.

    How's Keita doing?

He's doing fine. Seems to be playing left wing though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Whats Ayew at there?.....complaining about a stonewall yellow....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

They're a well organised unit, credit to the Hodge.

Mane and bobby should swap sides. Robertson links better with mane than Kieta or firminho

Spironi in goal and **** all shots being taken

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,479 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Robertson in there, but passed it back?

We'll probably see Shaqiri soon enough, could do with a direct runner.....difficult task to turn this around, CP are well drilled and space is hard to come by.....

Goal and an assist for Wilson in the first half for Derby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Hodgson would love these three points more than most. It makes me vomit.

We have a gem there in waiting.

Shaq needs to come on for keita who looks lost

Robertson in there, but passed it back?

Was trying for Kieta but missed hit it a little.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Bit of a struggle today. Palace have parked two buses and got exactly what they wanted by nicking a goal on the counter attack. Be difficult to rescue this.

Speroni is almost 40 but we haven’t made him have to do very much.

United will be back in title race if they keep winning

Bring him home! (alas the recall date has passed in any event)

Very annoying, hard to see Liverpool scoring twice from here to be honest.

Keita disappoints again. Need to hook him and bring on Shaq or Wijnaldum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,629 ✭✭✭magma69

Not playing bad at all. Playing with real urgency. Credit to Palace. They're ridiculously well drilled and Roy has their tactics spot on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Frustrating, lots of the ball, doing a lot of good things but the quality up top just not coming up with solutions.....CP gameplan also worked to perfection getting that goal on the break.....big half coming up....

Kieta is way off the pace
    Shaq please

Could say that about all the front line tbh

Really worried about Kieta. Has yet to have "that" game where I see him cement a place in the side. Shaq badly needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Looking very slim at scoring from open play unless it's a screamer from Henderson or Fabino.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,479 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Need to run at them more, do the unexpected. Will need a goal from a defender or midfielder to get ball rolling today. We need someone else to chip in for these type of games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I don't get why he's on the left wing

Someone needs to run at that back line, all this passy passy is going nowhere

This is it and how we made progress last time

This slow build up and diagonal ball rarely gets us results

The mist damaging thing for pool the last few weeks is the poorer teams have shown how to play us.

Keita not adding anything in attack, moves breaking down with his involvement. On the plus side Hendo and Fabinho playing well. Need to change something in attack though.

This team has the ability and spirit to adapt to this game and go on to win. Let's hope we make the changes required.

Panicked and rushed it up front with a silly press, palace cut through us with ease then. Just be patient.

    Big 45 coming up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

Palace really are 10 men behind the ball.... they got lucky with their break..poor milner not quick enough for Zaha...

a few poor performances at the moment... Keita having a shocker... Milner's crossing has been poor.. but there's too many in the box... we may need someone to score from outside the box...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,479 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

It's at half time that Klopp wins us this game, I'm sure he'll tweak it somehow and we'll be at least making the keeper work in second half.

Do we need both sitting quite deep though?

All the play is in front of CP, we are making it too easy for them. Probably need a HT change, very unlikely to find a solution with what we have out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

We were good, but we made a big mistake in committing that much to a press and not winning the ball, against a team like Palace the game gets so much harder when they have a lead to hold on to.

Have some faith, time to rid ourselves of this Hodgson Palace hoodoo

Keita needs to be played more through the middle, he is not a left winger of any sort. This is what happens when you play two No 6s at home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,479 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

We'll never score unless we hit target, that has to be the goal for second half, hit the target over and over and you'll get the reward, WE have to make that keeper work this half!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,212 ✭✭✭shamrock55

No cuteness up front which is what you need against teams like this

personally i'd have one or the other in most games against non top 6 teams

Keita needs to be hooked at half time. Don't care what anyone says, he's been a disappointment since he signed.
