Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's almost like some think that this manager hasn't a clue what he's up too,or how to go about things,we have no idea what goes on behind scenes at any club.

We obviously do not have the full story on Clyne.

It made no sense in pure footballing terms.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

As pretty much everyone predicted lettimg Clyne go will cost us points, Gomes wont be back till April if he geta an op , Lovren hamstring gone again , Bar bones at the back now
Why oh why did Klopp not wait till deadline day before deciding to let Clyne go , very careless managment

only reason to let him go was getting his wages off books looked good for balance sheet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Lets hope Salah, Mane, Firmino and Sturridge and Lallana don't get injured and we regret letting Markovic leaving.

Maybe he was doing lines of Coke in the Jack's.

Honestly do Liverpool expect Alexander Arnold to be fit for every game going forward & he won't suffer another reocurrance ever again.
That Gomez situation looks like someone f**ked up the prognosis. As he was meant to be back by now & looks as far away as ever.
Klopp saying he doesn't regret Clyne leaving makes him sound like he's blind as our right side has clearly been targeted in the last 2 games for a reason; we're playing players out of position there to cover a clear fumble in our transfer market. Sure Gomez can play there too when he gets fit
Our right side was targeted regularly last season too because we had a midfielder from the under age team filling in for Clyne. There were plenty on here that were happy to criticise TAA for his lack of experience and Klopp for allowing the situation to occur. Little has changed - Clyne isn't available, TAA is injured but we have other players that can fill in the position. They aren't like for like replacements but the management and team will find away to adapt to the situation.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mr. Henry. We can move on now.

Remarkably, with the recent downtown in performances - even though we're still accumulating points - there's a head of steam being built up by naysayers who seem to jump on the slightest negative to whinge and moan. This in a week where we increased our lead at the top to 5. Who knows what'll team we do eventually lose.

Closer we get the more panicked people will be, opposition fans will be just as bad if not worse with the drivel that comes out with any negative or minor setback..
If we don't win every single game we have bottled it.. the level we are achieving now we have never done before, still not enough for some. No team plays blinders all season.

I'm not a superfan, if I see problems I will say so. All managers have massive ego's and this is expressed in various ways - with Klopp it's his belief he can coach he way out of a personnel crisis -that no matter how thin the squad becomes he can raise it to beat the circumstances. Which would be grand if this side was mid table and didn't actually have anything vital to play for rather than being in the best position to win the league since before mobile phones were common. Sometimes managers needlessly invite potential catastrophe.

Football focus “Martin Keown” basically saying Liverpool have bottled it as they did not win on Wednesday

Ah well, it was nice as long as it lasted.

Keown was talking about the match v Leicester - "they had the chance to cash in, they bottled it perhaps" let's be honest pundits don't really take much care with their use of language it's essentially off the cuff chat for cash so you have to be careful - Keown backed Liverpool to win the title and he hasn't changed he view as far as I can tell.

I quite like Keown - as forbidding a pundit as he was a player. I pay little heed to pundits in general, either fundamentalists like Aldridge or paint-strippers like Keane. The truth is often behind doors - team selections, player rotation, transfers in/out - it's never as binary as it's often painted. Problem is that, for many, it is black and white and so as the slightest hiccup they've heard Pundit X say this and they've then got the pitchforks out.

We increased our lead to 5 at the top this week. The ifs/buts/maybes are irrelevant to that.

Isn't it that Clyne was fond of the Pepsi?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,977 ✭✭✭HandsomeBob

Only an ankle injury people were telling me on here as justification that he can be relied upon to be number 2 alongside VVD. Defence still needs serious upgrade in the Summer as a priority no one can deny that now.

Again I don't get it. City losing had very little baring on how we needed to approach a game against a Leicester team that can be extremely awkward.

Got through it in the end extending our lead over City so no idea where this bottle talk comes from. Losing a 3 goal lead against Palace fair enough.

Such notions seem to be born out of an assumption that a result shouldn't be in question and should be straightforward. That's not how the game works.

A top centre-half, a number 10 and a striker is badly needed this summer.

Would love to see us sign Lascelles in the summer but he also has a terrible injury record.

Looks to be some defender though.

There's been a few people posting their final points prediction recently.

I found this site where you can predict results til the end of the season & it updates the table in case anyone want to give it a shot
(you don't need to predict all games - if you want just top 4 / 6 just do those scores & it ignores non-entries)

Great player but should never have reached the net. Keeper was dreadful there.

Poch is unreal. No Kane or Alli, no reinforcements in January and he has them leapfrog City. They're still in this.

I like Lascelles too, would definitely take him. Eder Militao would have been perfect but seems to be off to Madrid. Dayot Upamecano very highly rated too, might be a possibility?

I've a feeling the season is about to unravel shortly. Squad is starting to creak with injuries at a crucial time, pressure of being leaders instead of chasers is starting to show... It was all too good to be true tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Lascelles would be a Hodgson or Rodgers signing.

There are a hell of a lot of better centre backs out there compared to him and at better value.

That's not saying he isn't good but he is a group stage Europa League defender we are shopping for a last eight Champions League defenders these days.

Afraid as in if you told fans before the previous run of games that we'd be 5 instead of 4 points ahead we'd be delighted. The only reason this is even an issue is because the likes of Sky Sports and BT and BBC need to control the narrative. Which in turn effects fans and causes panick b cause some wanker like Keown or Merson gets to justify they're living.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭osnola ibax

Fab fills in at right full. Whats the problem.

Gini, Hendo / Milner and Keita start in midfield

Still a great side, with a brilliant right full.

Except he probably won’t though. He’s been mooted as the natural option to cover there all season and yet, despite everything, hasn’t been played there for even a single minute.

For better or worse, it seems Klopp sees Fab as a central player, and Milner and Hendo are both seen as options at RB before him. Shows how important Fab has become in CM really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Milner should slot straight back in. Time might be catching up with him but he won’t be up against Zaha every week. Fabinho is needed in the middle and Henderson offers zero threat going forward. Leicester were happy to ignore him the other night knowing that he’d slow things down enough that they could get back into shape or that his ball just wouldn’t be good enough. I’d even be inclined to let Milner sit back most of the time and concentrate most of the attacks on Robertson’s side.

Ryan Kent scored a nice goal today for the unmentionables. He could end up being too good for Rangers to actually afford.

    Which post is more optimistic???

Randall is 23, he's older than TAA or Gomez
I'm surprised he's still at the club right now.
