Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi ,

I have a B525 4g router . Is there anyway I can get a wireless phone to recieve and make calls to the phone number associated with the router sim. Is that possible?

Basically I want a house phone (similar to the old landline setup) running off the modem sim so we can leave our personal mobiles in phones away lets play type box.

    Thanks in advance

Not the router sim, but you could use a VOIP provider and number in addition to the router and have a relatively cheap "landline".

Are you using a broadband sim ,or the 20 Euro payg sim, if it's the 20 you could plug an standard phone into the grey port and see if you can make and receive a call , then use a dect wireless phone, this works on the b315 ,the downside is that when a call comes in the modem drops to 3g then reverts to 4g when finished, for this to work modem must be set to auto

There are routers that can do that, but the Huawei one is not one of them.

Thanks , can you suggest any particular 4g router that could do that?

Fritz!Box routers support to plug in a 3G/4G USB adapter (that has to have voice support) and will allow you to utilize that feature.

There's also a 4G version of those routers, that has the support of that feature.

But they do come at a premium.

Doesn't the B525 have a RJ11 jack for exactly this? Surely you just plug a landline phone into it?

Huawei b315 does this, when network selection is set to auto. the b593 can do this too, but sometimes after a call it needs to be re-booted to get it back to 4g

The landline port on the Huawei B525 is for VoIP. I can't see any specification nor configuration also to take voice from the SIM card.

That's the unique feature, that the Fritz!Box has, but even there it is limited. Because you can't take calls while being on the 4G network. It has to back down to 3G/2G for voice.
