Mortgage in ireland with bad australian credit

    Hi I moved back to Ireland 18 months ago,left behind $15k in credit card debt. Now applying for a mortgage and they want a credit report from Oz. Is there a way around thi

    No all lenders will look for a credit report once you resided outside the country.

    If you were able to walk away from a 15k credit card debt in OZ I think you may not be mature or honest enough to take out a mortgage so maybe you should start with opening a credit union account and save for 6 months and then take out a small loan with them and try and make full repayments. You might also consider contacting the credit card company in Oz and making an arrangement to pay off the debt you ran up.
