Broken External Hard drives

    Does anyone have any experience of paying for data to be retrieved here in Ireland? Any recommendations?

    I have two external hard drives that I need to try extract data from. I know it can be expensive, but wondering what are the cheapest options?

    Sometimes it can be just the electronics in the enclosure thats faulty, not the actual drive inside. New enclosure/plugging it into to a desktop or laptop buy a cable would be way cheaper than pro data recovery.

    Inaccessible?
    Not spinning up?

    3 external hard drives in total

    None are spinning up

    1) when connected it beeps, so it's something to do with the battery power, I'm hoping a new dock might work.

    2) Connector broken. Thought it might have been the ac adaptor, bought a new one, but I think it's wear and tear at the connection

    3) Unsure, an old 250GB, not a kick out of it.

    Have any of the drives been connected in a different manner to a different machine?
    Maybe as an internal drive? or with a USB adapter with PSU to a new machine? etc

    That is the first thing I would try, as it could then be determined if the problem is the HDD or the means of it being connected.
    If that is the service you need and not data recovery then it is a hardware specialist you need I think.
