I received an email yesterday and told to discard and today received another to make a booking but when I go to the bookings page, there is no option to make a booking, anyone else having this problem?

    Still waiting on my clearance

Can I ask have they contacted your current employer? Am I right in thinking you won't be offered a specific job until all the vetting is done? Seems very unfair to inform your employer that you are job hunting when you haven't even been offered a job yet!

Yes they asked me before they contacted them. The reference they provided was just a statement of employment which has not been accepted so I’m still waiting as my boss I away.

I’ve gone through al the posts and it seems that Roscommon, Clare, Donegal, Louth and Waterford are the only counties that still haven’t been called for stage 2 yet. Anyone called for any of these? So frustrating as I’m top 5 for mine at stage 1. Emailed pas and no intention at this point to call anyone from my county.

Wicklow also hasn’t been called for stage 2 as far as I know

Clare was my first choice. PAS says they have no intention at this point to call anyone but will message when they do. Clare always had a high transfer rate as far as I was told so rarely has openings.

Yes. Im 37 Cork and just got called for interview.

Re interview, I have been involved in a few different public sector recruitment campaigns. I don't recall filling out a competency based application form for this one previously. What will they base the interview on does anyone know?

As far as I know, it's competency based. A friend of a friend recently did theirs and competencies were outlined in the familiarisation material prior to interview.

Was there a batch number in the email inviting you for interview?

It's competency based. They will send you familiarisation material ahead of the interview and the competencies are listed. They did it literally competency by competency.
I used STAR interview technique and passed the interview. Seems to be what they are looking for.

Know your competencies for the interview, all based on those, also I came out of interview thinking I had totally messed it up, and mustn’t have gone as bad as it felt, also anyone on cork panel actually been placed yet?

Did you have 2 examples for every competency and, if so, did you need both?

No. They stuck to the competencies. They asked me at the end if I had any questions but that was it.

I had two lined up and needed them as sometimes they ask a question that's unexpected and it helps to have wiggle room or situations that you can adapt to the question. The more examples, the more likely you'd be to adapt to the question

Late replying but I’m top 10 or 15 (can’t remember exactly) in waterford and haven’t been called yet so don’t think the process has started at all here.

Might not have started yet but I know that up to 4th place have been offered positions. Could be more.

Thanks that’s good to know. One question I remember being asked was how I sold/ convinced someone of the value of an idea/ project

Has anyone from the first batch of cork interviews been offered a position? I have an interview this week just trying to gauge how much longer I’ll be waiting!

    Yes.

Have emailed PAS twice in the last week looking for a Kildare update, no reply received yet. Last update I got was July 1st, number 1 on the panel (open) had been put through for clearance. In fairness the results had only been out about 2 weeks at that stage, so I'd be hopeful that they may have reached number 3 or 4 at this stage. Will update if I hear anything concrete from them

I'm a little lost here, where are the competencies mentioned?
    What are they?

In my application form I seem to have only put down job experience and SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION

Standard list of competencies for all grades here. Best of luck!

Sorry another question.. was it obvious from the questions which competency they were referring to? Did they do them in order?

In my interview they were very clear.
They explained which interviewer would be asking which competency and they made it clear when they were moving from one competency to the next

Last question , how much time is given for each competency & how long did your interviews last.

    Thanks again

No longer than 40 mins. I’d say 5ish mins for each competency. I had 3 or 4 questions per competency aswell. Have plenty of examples ready to pull from.
