Hi folks, power washer was acting, checked everything, and i think could be capacitor. Anyone would advise where to get it?

    Picture attached.

Judging by the type and value of that capacitor it looks like it's for interference suppression.

Only way that could cause a failure would be for it to short and cause the fuse to blow. Check the fuse and if blown just replace it, remove the capacitor from the circuit, and try again. If it works replace the capacitor, if not the faulty lies elsewhere.

What makes you think that capacitor is the problem?

What makes you think that capacitor is the problem?

Pressure washer kercher, when started, works fine, once stop spray water , engine wont engage. Have to wait for few min to get it start workin again. Somehow time related. Stripped washer, looks all good, cleaned and checked switch connectors, all seams to be good. As mentioned earlear on, just cut it out and test withoit it, may give some clue, is it actually a culprit. Any other way to test it?

As Alun stated if that capacitor had failed short circuit you would blow a fuse, so it's not likely to be it.

Is the pump overheating? Not sure but it might have a thermocouple protecting the motor?

Alternatively is the pressure switch operating correctly, it usually turns off the pump when you release the lance as the pressure builds then when you pull the trigger the pressure drops restarting the motor.

There is also likely to be a larger capacitor on the motor that might be failing, if you hear the motor hum instead of turn it might be that.

So, the problem is - once lance released, and pressed again, pump wont work again, have to wait for few min to get it work again. Engine not humming.

Even swich off and on, wont help, also plug out from power socket wont work.

Dont think so thats overheating protection, as i press lance for few sec, engine working, water spreyed properly... Let say 5 sec sprey water, then release lance, and then try press lance again - engine wont work. Water pressure is correct, and not leaking.

That problems srarted while ago, first engine didnt kicked in for couple sec, then by the time it takes longer time, to get it workin..

Check the pressure switch is operating correctly, both electrically and also the mechanical plunger.

    Stuck bypass valve????

when the pressure washer pump is on and the lance trigger is operated , pressurised water flows. When the trigger is released - to prevent over pressure on the hose and the pump overloading a pressure release valve opens and the pump output is passed around to the input of the pump. (and in some systems the pump turns off)

If this little valve sticks when you pull the trigger, the pump runs but because the valve is stuck open the pressure never builds because its bleeding off around to the pump input , therefore you get the all the right noises but only a trickle of water out of the lance.

Look for a brass bolt on the body of the pump, near to the lance connection, behind which there is a spring and a plunger. Remove the plunger and spring, lube with silicon gel and replace.

What you have in most of these pressure washers is an electrical flow meter which is activated with the flow of water, if this is going dodgy it will break the feed to the motor, I don't know where it is located in your washer probably near enough to where the hose is attached to the machine, if you locate it you could bridge it out for testing.

Did someone put washing up liquid rather than the correct fluid into it? Have had to clean one out before, yuck, got it back to life. Emc filter won’t make any difference unless it’s shorted and blowing the fuse as stated above. Disconnect emc filter and test.
