Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's amazing to see a 41 year old man who has done it all over and over again be so pumped up in the first quarter of a conference Championship game.

Pats had the ball there for what, 13 minutes?
    Only 12:38;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,156 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

Looks like Patriots are going to grind them with the run and short passes again. Not a fun watch for the neutrals but bloody effective.

What happened to razzle dazzle college offenses? This look like the nebraska cornhuskers from the eighties!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Well that makes it a lil more interesting.

Boneheaded call, boneheaded execution. Just all around boneheaded.

Disaster. Could be a massive momentum change.

Not that hard when you know your career is nearly done and you never know when it is your last chance.

Nevermind.... didn't see that coming. Very (very) unbrady-like.

How can the picture/sound quality with the Around the NFL segments be so awful?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,296 ✭✭✭coco0981

Crazy to even say it this early but that feels like a crucial turnover. If they had gone 14 points up Chiefs were in trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

The end of the completions without an int in the playoffs record. I don't think that record will ever be beaten.

It's a TO stopping me from going to bed for another bit.

Hmmmm, well that was a ****e play anyway. Could be a big turning point but it’s good to see how we are getting down the field quite easily.

Strange call given how well Develin has blocked recently, but the throw was all on Brady

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

On the plus side, Pats defence will be super fresh in the 2nd half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Chiefs not able to get anything going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Brady is now one off tying a record he doesn't want which is most ints in the playoffs. Favre has 28, the GOAT now has 27.

Just read on twitter that the interception on the 1 yard line joins a very illustrious club of memorable playoff interceptions at the 1 yard line. Butler's game-winning interception, and James Harrison's 100 yard pick-six.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

    Berry should have had that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

What a play, great catch by White.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

What are the refs doing standing over the ball for that long? They did it on the Pats 3rd down too and Brady seemed pissed, don’t think I’ve seen that before

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

    Mahomes needed that.

    Which lead to that....wow.

Patriots' coverage is beginning to crumble.

Crumble might be a bit much for two plays.

Three wide-open plays in a row!

Stating the obvious, but they've all been when Mahomes has had time.

Great to get away with not conceding on that possession after the big play by Hill.

Third play was a pick on a LB who was covering the line.

    Didn't last long did it?

That will eat at Mahomes, should have thrown an easy TD then get sacked miles behind the line on the next play.

*hopefully I'm not earing my own words 2 hours from now :D

    It rarely does with them!

Chiefs will regret not getting a score in this half. Patriots always adjust well at the half - though hard to figure out what needs to be adjusted here.

The ones they do on Sky sports is it ? Erica Tamposi is drunk clearly.

Jimmy White has a serious set of hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Pat's have kept the ball so long, CBS are desperate to get these commercial breaks in.

    Boom!

Another brilliant drive and finished off this time. Apart from that silly pick, that is a perfectly played half from us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,326 ✭✭✭el Fenomeno

Brady's pump fake has been one of the prettiest things in the NFL for the last 2 decades.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yes, Yes, Yes, Philip Dorsett you beauty. Great throw by Brady. That's huge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,326 ✭✭✭el Fenomeno

That's one of the quickest halves of football I've seen in a good while.

Good play. Feel Nelson could have done a bit better though.

That's me done for the night, good luck to whoever is staying up for it!

Last weekend against the Chargers was the best defense for one half of football in the playoffs. This one is even better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

1 hour 16 minutes for a half of football is pretty quick.
I might make it on time in the morning if they keep that up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

Pats were up 15 at home at HT in week 6. Mahomes then went and threw for 4 TDs to almost win the game. Only a matter of time before he puts together a drive imo. It's just about limiting them.

Patriots were ahead by more at half time when they met on Foxborough, that was a classic second half.

Pat's playing well. Awful 1st half by the chiefs. They need to switch on.

You have to give the other side a reasonable chance to substitute when you do. Refs were right.

Standard Patriots squeezing every bit out of the rule book and it nearly worked if they got the play off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

Dunno how anyone can say the refs didn't cost the Saints the game. They would've at the very least had a FG from 20 yards with 4 secs remaining, giving the Rams - at most - the KO return. Still can't believe the non-call, it's gets worse the more you watch it.

It is clearly the Chiefs who will need to make adjustments so it might be the other way around. Pretty much nothing has gone right for the Chiefs aside from not being behind by more. Patriots left at least 10 points out there but the TD at the end made up for it a bit. Looked like they were playing just to keep Mahomes off the field until Reid called the timeout and they converted that 3rd down.
