    Hi there,

Can I ask do both parties on the joint account need to be present for a bank draft to be issued in branch?

    Many Thanks
    Valerie

    Hi Valerie,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here.

In most case's only one person named on the account would need to be present when purchasing a draft. When opening the account you're asked on whether you'd like repayable indicator to either indicator on the account. If this is on the account it means any one person named on the account can sign for things (e.g. Drafts, cheques or in branch transfers). If this indicator is not on the account it would mean both parties have to sign for everything on the account.
If you're unsure if this is the case on your account a good way to check is if either one of you have the 365 online system set up for this account and can make transfers from the account online this would mean that only one person is needed to sign for anything on the account.
You can also raise this through the "Ask a question" section within the "Service Desk" tab of your 365 online profile and the advisers there will be more than happy to check your account status in relation to this.

    Thanks again,
    Darren.
