Data migration in an app?

    This just came up when I logged onto an app +quickly went to 100%. Could any1 briefly explain what that means or is it just an update type thingy.

    The fon memory was full up afew minits ago but I deleted space so I assume this is related

    So an update of sorts?
    Did a scan of antivirus + nothing came up,
    No1 else around nearby for to be hackers!

    [Simplification]

    Say the app stores contacts:
    Name, Email

    Now the app is updated to allow phone numbers
    Name, Email, Ph Num

    Its gotta take the old database and add a column to all entries to allow for the new value its capable of storing.

    That migration is that act of fitting the old data to the scheme.
