For the sake of drama, I was hoping he'd miss it.

That'll do it then. Not a great Super Bowl by any stretch of the imagination. Patriots by far the better team, just could not separate themselves thanks to stout Rams D for most of the game. Looked a bit worn out near the end.

Goff had a total nightmare of a game, as did McVay - nothing they did worked and got completely outwitted by Belichick.

Definitely didn't see the Patriots in the Super Bowl halfway through the year, and thought the Chiefs would get them in the Championship game, and thought the Rams would show up and beat them in the game tonight, so congratulations to the Patriots and all the fans here. Unbelievable achievement to win 6 rings!

Gilmore MVP? Hightower? Michel? Ryan Allen?

I'm probably in the minority but I loved that game. Always tense when it's low scoring.

Thanks everyone for the entertainment on here all game too!

Deserved for the win over the Chiefs more than anything else.

Couldn’t see us winning the SB half way through the regular season. Just weren’t firing at all and making some very poor decisions and plays. Lost on the road plenty.

Unbelievable achievement. What a game plan and effort from the defense. A coaching clinic.

    Weird game.

Two top offenses doing nothing. Terrible quarterback play from both sides. Patriots had a running game (shocker given the players on both sides) and generated a lot more pressure.

Tom Brady played far better last year but Belichek had the team working better this year. Maybe the Pats can keep going without Brady.

Even Ghosts two scores cut it fine.

Yeah baby yeah. Ghost closes it out. Bob Kraft, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady will all have statues outside Gillette Stadium.
This team was a joke franchise until Bob Kraft bought them. Now we are tied for the most Superbowl wins. Just incredible.

Well done Patriots, completely shut the Rams down. Belichick is a genius, it’s almost not fair on the other team.

Biggest margin of victory for Pats in a Super Bowl is the one they only manage 13 in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

This is Brady and Bill's biggest achievement. With the difficulties and challenges they've faced throughout the season, to win it all, is absolutely phenomenal. 6 rings. Wow.

    Edelman MVP no question.

All these writers calling Sean McVay an offensive genius just had their asses handed to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,033 ✭✭✭irishrover99

Did you see Brady’s helmet been taken by a helper.
    No repeat of last time.

Fair play to ya btw, I remember you saying a number of months ago that you had a feeling they'd go out and win it all this season. Great call.

I love a low scoring game but regardless Bellichick is just stupid. Mind blowing schemes all game.

    Eugh.

I know people were giving out about the game being boring but I didn't mind it, I'm only dissapointed we didn't get a big firecracker of a finish, instead of the the underwhelming and predictable one we got.

The lowest scoring SB ever, and probably the lowest score for a winning team too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,061 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

It was a good and tense SB until the Pats TD, the ways the Rams and Goff played offensively you couldn't see any TDs coming from them after that

In fairness after the offensive entertainment of the two previous SBs hard to complain with this years' SB.

Incredible achievement (again) by Pats/Brady/Belichik, you won't be surprised to see them in Miami next year going for No. 7

    Great Scrum at the end!
Could they find a smaller reporter?? She’d make a decent scrum half. Small. Loud and annoying

Without a doubt, I never expected this. Worse most influx receiving Corp Brady probably has ever had. Two back to back losses in December, but when it really mattered, Brady and the Pats turned up.

Makes a refreshing change. Sick of the Pats being in high scoring nerve rackers.

    That catch from gronk though

Last year the defense cost us a win, this year, for once, they did their job. Keeping that Rams offense to just 3 points, wow!

The Rams had 3 first rounders (?) in defensive line and Aaron Donald is regarded as the best player in the NFL. The other two were the second and third
overall picks. If they were playing well you were going to struggle. That said the Pats probably left a lot of points out there and this should have been more comfortable, but the record books will not reflect that and neither will the ring they get.

I’m not taking about the rams. I’m judging Bradys reaction on his own high standards.

Edelman and gronk came up big , great gameplan from belichick.Mc vay and Goff arnt ready for a superbowl yet , Goff looked lost out there.

Delighted for him, the low draft pick that the Pats converted from a Quarterback to a receiver. What a story for him.

Rams surely. Patriots incompetent RBs to help.

Aged like a bottle of milk. One of the worst calls I've ever seen on a sports forum.

Could be, on reflection you have to judge on who you are facing but QB's are funny I guess. I remember Roethlisberger being unhappy when he won his first Super Bowl as he didn't do anything that won them the game. It is an ego thing. I am not sure if Brady is like that though, last year he broke all sorts of passing records and they lost. This year the offense was off colour and they won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

Brady looks pissed with his/offense performance.

He has nothing to be pissed about. He led yet another 4th quarter game winning drive for the Michel TD when it really mattered. Made the plays when he really needed to make them. He looked a man slightly in disbelief, he had 26 players transition through his WR corp this season, the offense was all over the place and there he is getting his 6th ring. Or maybe he was just shocked that for once, the Pats defense went above and beyond.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭el Fenomeno

Gronk is on set on NFL Network and he is absolutely ecstatic.

Hardly based on that game. Cmon.

To be fair, Rothlisberger was horrendous that day, when the wideout is throwing better passes than you, you got a problem!

    Brady is the GOAT.

That's old news. After his 4th ring, overcoming two 14 points deficits against the Legion Of Boom at their dominant peak, even his biggest critics/haters admitted that.
