Interesting letter. I didn't realise that it was the brief of the union to ensure that Ireland welcomed foreign workers to do the jobs of their members for lower wages. Don't the unions usually describe such things as "a race to the bottom". Let's be frank, the purpose of this letter so this man can get a platform for himself to appear to be more virtuous than the rest of us.
You really haven't been listening to much that unions have said for the past couple of decades, have you?

Soros by the way survived the holocaust.

'Solving' corruption by providing direct political control over the media.

    Mmmmmm

    Its called fascism

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

there are some who say "ah but she makes some good points" ....

i'd say b0ll0x to that and anyone who supports her is an idiot.
i follow her on every platform i can, and she's operating a very sinister ship.

She essentially thrives on hate. The comments on her facebook posts would make one sick.

Posting links to random one of instances on far away countries and linking them to Ireland and then inciting sick racist and homophobic comments from brainless idiots.

    SHEEPLE!

By my most generous of estimates, less than 1% of her followers engage positively with her tweets.

And I've noticed many of the replies are either negative, or the positive ones are by people using made up handles instead of their real names.

Of her 26k followers, how many do we think are
    a) true supporters
    b) bots
    c) people like us who think she's nuts but follow for the entertainment value

I always wonder about the ones that are some fake picture or meme with a weird name and private profile, you see them all over this **** on twitter, facebook, youtube, and in different languages. Are they really organised bots/fakes or just a trolling/altright subculture type thing

And Irish culture should be in Ireland. So no cranking out "riverdance" tours, no GAA abroad and certainly all Irish pubs outside the island of ireland should be shut immediately.

Just cos someone let's you in to their premises, doesn't equal "great support".
Mind you, after all the hotels that refused her from spreading her racist, islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, bullying, hate mongering views, maybe someone letting her in the door IS seen as great support.

Muting her name on Twitter is great for ould quiet life. I didn't even know she was running in the European elections until I saw her briefly mentioned on The Tonight Show last night.

The newspapers are giving her about as much attention as that Herman wacko who's also running, apparently.

I do miss the communism panic though. @Odhinn that tweet is priceless.

Or drivers just drive the bus they are assigned to. If the drivers did object and refused to drive them you would be complaining that they are restricting her freedom of speech

so there is a letter from the union to Dublin Bus querying why they are allowing the posters to be used.

But nothing about refusal to drive the buses, and not a news story in sight (that I have seen anyway)

So she is making the fake fake news now?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,734 Mod ✭✭✭✭Boom_Bap

I imagine if you asked 100% of bus drivers today what was advertised on the bus they were driving, 100% of them would shrug their shoulders.

I would completely understand and support any driver who refused to drive a bus with her mug on it.

Make a reasoned and mature response - get a marker and a ladder and cross the eyes on the poster.
