It is a pricey thing to get done. 1000 euro including a crown.

Are you including the cost of travelling abroad at least 2 times (but more likely 3) in that €400?

If you're stuck money-wise, you can usually get by with a filling instead for a good few months or up to a year before getting the crown.

The only thing more expensive than getting a root canal done properly is getting it done poorly.
Get it done abroad for €400.

400 + travel + flights + time off + hotel + expenses. And it take more than one visit if done properly maybe 2-4 week apart. Even if this was a decision best made by economics alone (which it is not) it makes no sense either.

€1000 for root treatment and a crown is priced really well to be fair. Especially if it's a back tooth root treatment. It's not cheap but atleast you get to keep the tooth and you can claim tax back at the end of the year.
