25-01-2019 12:25amHi!
I've always had a turntable with built-in amp/speakers and was wondering what kind of a setup I would need to run the Pro-Ject Primary E? I take it I can't just unbox, setup and play my records with just what comes in the box or can I?1

Thanks for the post.
The project Primary E is just the turntable part of a setup and you would require both amp and speakers to complete the setup.
There is really only two all in one system we would stock the Teac MCD800 priced at £249.00
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-201752-teac-mcd800-black-black-system-inc-speakers.aspx
Or the Teac LPR550USB MK2 coming in at £299.00
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-201358-teac-lpr550usb-mk2-mini-system-with-cd-recording-inc-speakers.aspx
If you wanted a separate system you could go for something like the:
Yamaha AS201 - Amp - £169
Project Primary E - Turntable - £145
Then add any of the following speaker:
Tannoy Mercury 7.2 - Walnut - £79
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203042-tannoy-mercury-7-2-walnut-speakers-per-pair.aspx
Q Acoustics 3010 - £99
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-201174-q-acoustics-3010-graphite-matte-graphite-speaker-per-pair.aspx
Or even floorstanding speakers the Tannoy Eclipse 2 priced at £99
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202697-tannoy-eclipse-two-black-speakers-per-pair.aspx
The only other thing you would require would be some speaker cable depending on how many meters you need.
Start at £1.19 per meter for the Symphony 100
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-900187-cambridge-audio-symphony-100-speaker-cable-per-metre.aspx

Thanks for the response Kenny! Trying my best to steer clear of all in one systems and go for a setup that focuses on sound quality, the only set back being the budget. Set on getting the Pro-Ject Primary as I've heard great things! The floorstanding Tannoys look perfect but would there be any 'budget friendly' preamps to consider even b stock items or any bundle offers available if buying all items together? Thanks again!0 -

Unfortunately at the moment I would not have any ex-display or open box stereo amps.
The AS201 listed above is the starting point for a stereo amp with built in phono stage for connecting up a turntable if the turntable does not have a built in phono stage. Which the Primary E does not.
I tried to keep things as straight forward as possible for you with the last quotes.
If you wanted to go for a cheaper amp there is the Cambridge AM5 priced at £79
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-10602-cambridge-audio-topaz-am1-black-stereo-amplifier.aspx
You would need to purchase a separate phono stage and the cheapest would be the Project Phono Box priced at £60
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-200574-project-phono-box-black-mm-mc-phono-pre-amp.aspx
Plus a phono to phono cable for connecting them - AUD100 1m priced at £12.99
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-10534-cambridge-audio-aud100-phono-to-phono-1m-interconnect.aspx
This way does come in cheaper than the AS201 by around £15
We always try our best to do bundle deals for boardies but I have very little room to play with on those products.
The best I could do would be to offer free shipping and free speaker cable (Depending on how many meter you require)

Thank you for throwing in the shipping and speaker cable! I'll go ahead and purchase the Pro-Ject Primary E, Yamaha AS201 (would you have it available in black?) and a set of the Q Acoustics 3010. As for the amount of speaker cable, I'll be going for fairly compact and tidy setup so whatever length you'd recommend. Could you let me know the total cost in both GBP and EUR and also how I go about making payment? :D Thanks once again for your help!0 -

No problem at all.
AS201 in black is no issue.
Does 4 meter of cable sound long enough for you?
The total would be £393 or 463 Euro. You can choose which ever currency works out to be cheapest for you.
