Is there ANY way left to contact Eir?

So I rang Eir last month to cancel my contract and the guy on the phone talked me into signing a new contract, at my previous rate, so I stayed. I did all the "yes's" and "I accept's" on the phone and thought that was the end of it.

My next bill arrived and it was wasn't at the rate agreed, no indication of the new contract being applied, so I tried to ring Eir and was told there was a wait time of over 30 minutes. I'm NEVER waiting around on hold for 30 minutes.

I tried ringing "sales" got through immediately (lol), but was then transferred to "customer care" and I was waiting on hold for ages, finally hung up.

I've rang 1901 several more times, always get a waiting time of over 30 minutes.

I tried contacting eircare on Twitter, they said they can't help. Ring 1901.

Tried contacting eirchat, they said they couldn't help either. Ring 1901.

Eir seem to have their email address disabled.

Eir have closed down their community forum.

I finally contacted Eir via a complaint form, over a week ago, no reply.

I cancelled my direct debit as it wasn't for the agreed amount.

I've think I've run out of ways to contact Eir. Is there no other way? Can anyone here help? I thought I'd at least get a call when I cancelled my direct debit..

If my services get disconnected before I even get a phone call i'm just going to move to a new provider.

For a communications company, their communication really sucks..

Wasting your time. I cancelled contract months ago and went through similar still got billed for several months then i tried all the above and the same. Got an email other day telling me service was cut off which i didnt care and i now owe 900 euro and they will send debt collector. You cant reply to them. Seems to be a common issue I look forward to my day in court with them..

Yea, that seems to be a common theme. I saw an article in the Irish times, or somewhere, recently where this happened to someone, repeatedly, for the better part of a year.
It's like the conversation you have on the phone with them just gets forgotten the minute you hang up.

    Crazy!

It also seems that the online tech support are powerless to change anything regarding accounts, contracts, payments etc. Which makes it pretty much impossible to get anything sorted. I can't see them staying in business much longer if it continues like this.

    Hey Grainne,

Can you help me if I PM details to you? Have been waiting wayyyyy to long to speak to someone, anyone, regarding my contract, it's a joke at this stage

Well done GIjoe. suggest sending registered letter stating reason for cancellation,, no response from eir etc, to their head office. you will have proof was sent or was refused at eir offices. Data protection complaint and comreg too. They have passed your personal details to a 3rd party(debr collection agency) when no debt exists

A registered letter would likely be accepted in court as having informed them.

If they don't register the fact that they were informed and they signed for the letter, that's entirely a problem with their internal bureaucracy and nothing to do with you.

    Dear Grainne,

    Help.......

Can you help me if I PM details to you? I am in a similar situation where the first year went well and I phoned 1901 and agreed over the phone eir Complete Broadband & Phone Off Peak local and national calls  €61.99 (Inc. VAT) less €10 euro discount less €2 Paperless billing as Sky could not get the line unblocked.

The lady I spoke to today said a contract was sent out on 11-01-2019 by email but I can see no email or contract only a text message Your installation has been arranged for the morning  of 15 January . She admitted the bill for this month is not right €86.11 is not right but said it definitely not €36 credit

    Thanks,

    Hi Grainne,

I would like help also, regarding Eir. I do not want to keep up the contract now that it has moved into higher figure, and yet I cannot get in touch to have contract with Eir cancelled, and I do not want to risk credit damage by cancelling DD and finding Eir keep sending me bills, and etc. This is a kind of crazy situation. It is impossible to reach Eir.
