I don’t think Ray Darcy has the either the love of music or the “joie de vivre” to be suitable for the Ronan Collins slot down the line.

Making his own brown bread and fish three times a week, gripping stuff

I made brown bread over the weekend. I suspect that next year Ray will have a lot more free weekends to make brown bread.

Speaking of baking bread reminds me of the late John Lennon.
In the latter years of his much too short life he discovered the joys of baking bread.
The fulfilling grounding experience of turning the work of the farmer and miller into the wonder that is bread.
High up over Central Park in the kitchen of his apartment he found something that gave him almost as much pleasure as his music.

Bono should give it up. The high notes were (understandably at his age) all over the shop

He has a fixation about children's ages.

Yes, well spotted Barry, I noticed that myself, didn’t even listen to the Taoiseach's speech, so he said.

Very unlikeable individual, I have to say, seems totally immersed in down and outs, to the complete disregard of anyone else’s point of view.

Apologies if I am mistaken in that.
