IIRC they are two different places.
I think the face is in Iceland and the body in Hawaii.

Okay, I know humour is subjective. But, WTF, is the joke on the reader?

That one has me baffled as well.

Substitute "TV Show" for book and that's the "funny", showing how people don't talk like that about books normally but they do about TV Shows

A lot of work (and it's not even certain that's the set up) for not a lot of payoff.

Besides, I have heard people talk about books this way, Harry Potter case in point. Possibly similar for the Twilight series, Shades of Gray etc.

I remember that with The DaVinci Code. Was reading it (When it was super popular) and was waiting for it to get good
    It doesn't

Regarding that post, that poster tends to carpet bomb the thread with everything they find every couple of days.

Oh, I know. I'd say the hit rate is about 1 in 4. They are not all terrible. A bit of a filter would do wonders.

But people who love reading actually do that. In fairness, it would have fitted better in "It's funny 'cause it's true".

The Far Side is the best thing since Calvin and Hobbes.

You're in for a treat. For instance:

...and this is my personal favourite:

The Far Side predates Calvin and Hobbes by a couple of years.

Fair enough, but I'm sure you know what I meant. :)

By the way, if anyone wants to invest, these are good choices:

    https://www.abebooks.com/products/isbn/9780740748479?cm_sp=bdp-_-ISBN13-_-PLP

    https://www.abebooks.com/products/isbn/9780740721137?cm_sp=bdp-_-ISBN13-_-PLP

I got my copy of the former years ago, in Chapters (once again, no affiliation, I just love the place).

Sinking land is not climate change, if that was rising sea levels, every sea port on the planet would have been abandoned by now.

Not saying that one is but land slips can be. More frequent and stronger storms and surges, caused by climate change, will increase soil erosion

    https://www.amazon.com/Engineered-Labs-Heritage-Periodic-Elements/dp/B07G2W9FS7

Different version below it, but it says 83 samples. so I guess they left out a few.

    Product description

    About Us
We are the Original Creators of the Heritage Periodic Table display with real element samples in it.
We are the only ones that make them right here in the USA. In Idaho to be exact. All others are from China.
We applied for a patent to help fight these others.
They really do have samples of the elements in them.
We have several other products on Engineered Labs including a large wall mounted periodic table.
It has taken us over a year to get to this point but we are excited to be on Amazon.
We are super easy to get a in contact with.

    About the Product
The Periodic Table contains 83 of the stable elements.
    It measures approximately 4.5" x 6" x 1" (114mm x 152.4mm x 25.4mm)
They come with a micro fiber bag for storage.
They also come with a certificate of authenticity that tells a little about each sample.
    It is safe to handle.
It is made from clear acrylic and each element is placed by hand.

Why You Should Buy From Us
Because you will actually get what we show in the pictures.
And you will not be disappointed if you do.

    VERY LATE EDIT -

They're there, you just can't see them :pac:

    Also, Hg doesn't look liquid.

    Fluorine is green
    Chlorine is yellow-green
Bromine is brown when it's warm
Iodine is puple when it's really warm

    Phosphorous could be several colours

    I prefer transparent carbon samples

That's adding a lot of pressure on the whole thing, Capt'n.
