Id agree, it is entrapment but there is a need for it. The groups that go playing ‘detective’ or hard man finding peoples houses / naming and shaming with no proof are dangerous and often wrong , the ones who entrap paedos in chatrooms, set up a meeting in a public place and just keep the paedo there till the police come get them and continue a real investigation are fine

I wouldnt have the time myself to do it and think its a weird hobby but aslong as their aim is to draw the paedo out and make them known topolice instead of serving violence themselves then its better

Depends on who purposes the meetup.

If they suggest meeting the pedophile for sex and he agrees, it's entrapment; but if the pedophile offers first, then he's guilty. The abuse doesn't actually need to take place at all.

I doubt these people do it because they care about children. Id say they do it as they dont like themselves too much and want to find people worse than themselves to attack. That's my amateur psychology on it. I mean what sort of f*cking weirdo would get into this racket.

The hunters have always got evidence eg. Photos. Addresses etc. When tracked down the hunters constantly film the altercation to ensure that any fighting etc will be on tape. Sadly when a lot of these bastards do eventually get to court if a certain judge is sitting then the case is often dismissed. Dismissed after all that hard work but hunters and especially decoys. Dismissed with either a suspended sentence or a friendly warning.

Their numerous critics have pointed out that if they were remotely interested in child safety, they wouldn't put any videos up online. They seem to be doing it mainly as a form of entertainment for fellow right wing 'hang them and flog them' types.

I seen a video of one of these operations where they went to a house close to me started bating down the door and grabbed and were screaming at the guy who answered the door. Turns out the person they were targeting had moved out a week ago and had been sharing the house with another renter who was none the wiser as to his private life. It's a dangerous game.

I also do wonder about the type of person they 'catch'. I mean I would have assumed that any sexual predator worth his salt would determine the difference between a real child and Louise on her laptop fairly quickly. I say that as somone who has done a bit of online dating (obviously not the same thing) but either way you can figure out genuine ppl or catfish pretty quick. I assume habitual sex offenders are going to be even more astute and careful about who they pick and what they say. The people they catch must be extremely naive or simple minded themselves but sexually opportunistic.

Louise and co were never bag a Josef Fritzl type to be fair.

A lot of people they catch seem to be loners or misfits of low intelligence or people on the autism spectrum.

As you say, anyone of even average intelligence would be suspicious in this day and age of having online conversations with total strangers and wondering if the other person is even who they claim to be.

Sadly I think you’re right to some degree anyway.

When you hear the way they talk not just to the People they challenge(Fair game there), but the way they talk to the Garda or people who question them. They seem like nasty people themselves and are using this to make them feel important and maybe get away with things that they might get into trouble with themselves

It is men like me who society suspects would be looking at child porn but I have never looked at it, they like to paint the weird neckbeard loner as the evil one and they can't handle it when a normal type of man is found guilty of it. That brings them fear, they don't know who they can trust in society as they don't know what goes on behind a mans nice house in the suburbs. If the police raided my computer the only thing they would find are BBC's and my collection of camgirl videos, women from 18-40.
