Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi, could anyone give me a review of these cars.

and what would such a car in good condition with 125,000 miles be worth?

They were ok back in the day. Reliable. Nothing exciting.
Value today would be lucky to be 100 euro.

A couple hundred quid maybe. It's a 20 year old car, and a fairly bog standard one at that.

Sell it to an exporter. They’d love that in Africa.

    really?

the mileage is legit, it has not been used the last 6 years

Had 1 here and ran it to 300k miles. Engine bullet proof but very sluggish by modern standards. Top links and track/tie rod ends regular fails but inexpensive. On ours the back axle mounting rubber on the chassis seized an pulled the mounting bracket off.

If it has not been used for the last 6 years then it might need quite a bit of work to get it nct test ready/road worthy again
.so budget for that unless you are a DIY mechanic. Gonna need

    Servicing
Possible sticky brakes from lack of use
    Battery
Interior could.be smelly from lack of use
Tyres could be cracked(inspect, they'd definitely receive an age related comment at NCT
Fuel tank might need to be drained of old fuel
    Etc etc.

If you've time on your hands.

It probably doesn't make great commercial sense to a lot of people but if you've have time and somewhere to work on it then why not.

I had one and head gasket went , my mechanic said he never had one go in one of them before. I got rid of shortly after . Mine was far from bullet proof and I bought it new enough .

I had a citroen c4 after that and that car was probably the only c4 on the planet that never went wrong ....

20 years old and off the road for the last 6. It's worth scrap value.

The normally aspirated version of this engine as used in first generation Primera, the Almera and Sunny could blow head gaskets.

I don't know whether the turbodiesel fixed this - or made it worse.

it was actually only off the road the last 2 years.

You'd have to carry it to a scrap yard yourself to make any money. Most yards I know around here will charge you what the car is worth to take it away. But maybe €100 or so if you got it there yourself on a trailer. That's all it's worth.

As Colm has already said you really need to get in contact with some exporters.

Some of them are giving up on €650 for a running and driving turbo diesel avensis or carina.

They usually take 90's Nissans too so it'd be worth seeing what you could get.
