Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ref completely and utterly bottled that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Brainless from Young. He could have been given a second yellow for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Young knew what he was doing there. Wonder will the ref bottle it or not?

    He did indeed.

That's more dangerous than almost any tackle you see on a football pitch

Cards for everyone that wants one and young gets nothing for that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

What a joke. Young should've been sent off. The ref's been handing out cards like confetti, and then when the first one that really merits a yellow, he bottles it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,564 ✭✭✭✭whiskeyman

    Don't know how it's still 11 vs 11!!

A red will likely ruin this game.
It's far from a classic, but good entertainment!

    Get in Young

Ah yeah nothing better than cheering on someone deliberately trying to hurt another player.

Just a good shoulder, a legal tackle still in soccer?

  • Hopefully Young scores now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,839 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Passing is poor tonight. Really poor. Got in some good positions but no incisiveness or cutting edge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,398 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Man Utd should be down to 9.

Lucky for them the ref is a bottler.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,047 ✭✭✭Unearthly

Is VAR only for straight reds or can be used for 2nd yellows to?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,507 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

I've seen sly shoulders like that cause many a row in GAA.

    Lucky boy.

That could have been dangerous. Lucky.
Filthy from Young, typical of him.

Young should be off there. Ref bottled that.

PSG really should be attacking Young now.

They seem to make up VAR as they go along.

Would you go away outta that. Fair shoulder, on the pitch...nothing nasty about it

    Absolutely

    Couldn't give a **** about Di Maria

    Shoulder strength bundled him over

Hopefully do maria scores with his sore arm.

it looks bad because of how it ends up but easing someoone off the pitch with a shoulder happens multiple times a game.

Calling someone scum is against the rules, right? Or does that apply for other teams?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,398 ✭✭✭facehugger99

Although, if that had been Neymar instead of Di Maria, I probably would have cheered.

There was no need for Young to do it ball was going out and neither player was getting it

    Real captains display from Young.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,199 ✭✭✭artvanderlay

I can never support Young as a United player. He's brainless: always was and always will be. Plus now he is getting old and slow: the only thing he had was pace! And he's our captain: ridiculous! I'd get him off now if I was Solskjaer. Him or Pogba will f*ck things up tonight if they don't cop on.

Man U playing more like a Jose team tonight that the most free flowing team in Europe they have been over the last 10 games.

Wasn’t exactly easing someone off the pitch now. Pure dirt imo from someone who knows there’s a big slope there down to the metal barriers.

Theres a good chance Iin plenty of other games hed have gotten himself a 2nd yellow there. Getting sent off in the first half is far from a captains display

LOL No one cares that you don’t give a curse about Di Maria. Young should be off

Thought PSG were very quiet for the first 20/25 minutes, but they've looked a bit more dangerous since then, started producing something in the final third. United giving the ball away too easily.

Time for Dani Alves to retire.

Didn't think there was much in Young's first yellow, but if he wasn't already on a yellow he'd definitely have got one for the shove.

  • Jesse been poor tonight

    Hopefully he's ok though

Poor enough game, PSG will be happy and United need to do a lot more.

    Captains display

    Agree, ****e game overall

Disappointed with Rashford, martial and Lingard

Pogba being marked out of it I think also

Absorbing contest although short in goalmouth action. PSG will be happier. Been impressed with Verratti and Marquinhos. Thiago Silva doing well in defence. Matic probably United's best player.

He was already on a booking. Ref bottled it. He knew exactly what he was doing and he should be off.

Were booing him from the start, don't see why that should change

Point to it in the rulebooks what he done then

Because a shoulder to shoulder tackle on field is perfectly legal challenge

What did he do? He shouldered a player inside the bounds of the pitch who was then affected by a slope off the pitch.

I don't think Kimpembe or Young deserved second yellows. Thought Shaw kind of jumped into Kimpembe and Young's was shoulder to shoulder just unfortunate For Di Maria that it was so close to the sideline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Interesting game.

No idea how Young and matic are still on the pitch.

united played similar against Spurs but faded badly in the second half then. Interesting to see if they manage better here (especially if the ref actually sends one of their players off), can’t see PSG being as wasteful if they drop off again.

    Hahaha

What a comparison. Young did nothing wrong no matter how many are offended.
