Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Get reg's off each one and throw them into motortax.ie and you'll see...Mark 5 is €710 anyway

    Mk4 636
    Mk5 710
    Mk6 570 or 750 depending on car
    Mk7 seems to be 280
    Mk7.5 Think I've seen them at 390?

Are you just choosing which golf gti to buy based on road tax alone?

I don't think a GTi is for you if your primary decision point is on the Motor Tax rate.

If your budget is for a Mark 7 and tax is your concern then I'll sell you my Mark 5 and you'll have enough left over to tax it for 10 years

I have a July 2008 MKV GTI and road tax is €750.

    It's well worth it !

Hopefully cheaper tax is better as it means money for premium tyres :)

Buy the 1.6 TDI and put TDI badges on it nobody will notice and you have chape tax. ;)

MK7/7.5 tax depends on whether DSG (€390) or manual (€280)

Title change to reflect it's called motor tax, not road tax.
