Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is all very true of hospital nursing care in general. They sure can be rude as hell to patients, I’ve had these experiences post-op. Some nurses just don’t like people in pain.

Maybe Versatis would be the answer to all this?

Its amazing nobody has had a good experience so far

We had experiences like these when our kids were born, we put it down to the staff been just ran off their feet, but i will say, for every person who seems not very nice or helpfull, there is somebody else who is more then helpfull and nice

He was actually genuinely sympathetic with this caller... I think.

Jesus, did he not do this to death yesterday.

These women are such entitled snowflakes, you go into hospital to give birth and you are just a number. You give birth to a healthy baby and you make way for the next pregnant woman.

Nobody cares about you personally, its not a four star hotel with staff topander to your needs.

Wy cant Joe pronounce Michelle, meshell and you mind yourself, yes, Joe, our words are meaningless but you charge so much for them.

I turned it off yesterday, did anyone from the hospitals or the Midwives union come on.

I was doing some work at the Maternity Hospital in Limerick a while back.

The amount of young mothers stood outside the entrance smoking was unbelievable.

Is it really fair that Joe Duffy gets to take pot shots at these people. They are obviously hugely understaffed, and as the priest from the Alive magazine said Joe Duffy is certainly not understaffed or underpaid. Joe Duffy has plenty of staff to put their time in to investigating how the nurses did a terrible job, while the nurses still don't have any staff to actually do their jobs.

No. There would be a better chance of pavee point coming on last week.

Could certainly have been handled better. As a medical matter, it's important for staff to see these things, but asking like that is a bit out of order.

They give you a refrigerated box to take the baby home in- happened a family member, the saddest thing I have ever seen, both parents standing over a baby's grave

I do wonder did the nurse say it that way...might have been a very young nurse who said it that way while chatting with her for a while

Hardly just came over and said "gis a peek"

then the mix up with the gender...shambles

To be fair, this topic is harrowing.

Women not respected again, by other women mostly (midwives). I realise that most mothers experience great maternity care, but it is important to hear the other side.

Listening to the mother of the stillborn child and the dismissive attitude towards her and her dead baby is just something else. OMG.

When the nurses were looking for more money. All the calls were about the wonderful fantastic nurses _ angels who looked after them. As they all are said joe.

This is off the wall stuff

90% if these incidents are not down to understaffing

Just uncaring people who should not be in the job

This is really a horrific story.

The fact she is a nurse and from recent comments she made (e.g. the near miss comment) indicates that she knows full well that the front-line staff are not all they are made out to be (by Liveline and the rest of the media).

    I said so yesterday.
Somebody in Joe's family or circle or RTE management has bumped up against shoddy treatment somewhere.
