Light fitting bracket?

Some kind fella put these light fittings on adverts for free but I don't think it came with the bracket to fit it to the ceiling.
Are these ceiling brackets common or are the lights useless without them?

It is a common bracket. But you could also use L brackets with a self tapping screw
