Front Implant....here or hungary?

    Hi All,

I'm in a bit of trouble here so will try and keep it short and sweet. I had two teeth knocked back no 21 & 22 over five years ago, I managed to push them back up into my gum and had a brace attached for six months to move them back in place. There is now a retainer bar in place accross the front four teeth.
Ever since no 21 has always felt a little loose, would never feel confident while biting etc. Recently I had an infection and was pretty much told by the dentist the best route would be to have it removed and an implant put it (more than likely a bone graft required too.)

The first quote I've gotten were for 3500 (implant alpha bio)& 5500 (nobel biocare replace). From a company who do part of the work here and part in hungary

I'm hoping someone here might be able to offer advise on what type of implant I should get, I definitely don't want to have to get this done again five years down the road, and as such is the standard of treatment in hungary similar to what I'd get here.
The obvious answer will be to talk to my dentist but I would like to have some info on the best treatment in case any dentist I do see is trying to sell their own treatments as the best.

    Thanks

For those prices just get it done here. You could have specialist treatment at those rates. Good dental work is never best done abroad.

Like everything in life, there are ranges of quality and prices. However at the end of the day, the outcome and experiance of treatment will depend on the person doing the job. Their experiance, expertise, attention to detail and their enthusiasm to do the job well. You need to not seek out the treatment but the location of a person with the good qualities to do the best job for you.

    Will this excellent dentist be:
    1. Advertising for patient to fly to them and have treatment?
    2. Be the cheapest?
    3. Do it the most quickly?
    4. Have sales teams and middlemen/women available to give you sales pitches?
    5. Specialised in specific areas of dentistry?
    6. Be busy and have a wait to see them?

    The answers are self evident.

Its a minefield for patients, and usually the best option is to get a referral from your trusted dentist or have treatment with your trusted dentist. If you do not have such a dentist then a good place to start is looking for extra qualifications, general reputation, advice from friends and family.

To rely solely on online research is often to fall into the traps of marketing & advertising, shills, middlemen and online reviews and testimonials selected only for best sales effect. The dentists that I know who consistently achieve the best results do not find it necessary to canvas for patients online on in other media.

BTW the brand of implant does not matter, there is something wrong with a clinic that chooses to place a medical device of sub-optimal properties in a patient when another superior one exists in their clinic Most good clinics offer only the implant that the surgical team is experienced and comfortable using, its not a patient choice for money reasons.

Best of luck with the hunt.
