Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pretty clear 2 handed push on the back

The sport has gone ridiculously soft and you can’t argue that it’s for the better when goals like that are ruled out.

Chiellini went down by a touch that wouldn’t knock over a malnourished child ffs.

Ridiculous call. Struggle to see Simeone not getting a red now :pac:

Juve nailed on now to score an offside goal or win a penalty from a Ronnie dive that VAR doesn't rule out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭Ardent

Looks like when the ref is reviewing video footage they show him the most unflattering angle. Should show all angles for context. Perfect goal for me.

Juve have been fortunate tonight, they've been pretty poor. Could have seen that goal given, conceded a penalty in the first minute & Costa missed one a blind man would finish.

Bonucci on the floor clutching his face was comical.

Atletico have been by far the better side, should be 3 or 4 up already.

Who was the Juve player peaking to see what was going on before holding his face when the goal went in?

    Nice celebration there from Simeone.

Can't wait for the stills of that. Amazing how the pain multiplied when the ball hit the net, it's an odd thing

If that goes down as a Ronaldo OG, that’s a great footballing moment. :D

Juve throwing money at trying to win the CL, could it all be wasted for another season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,614 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

Where is the greatest player in the world to take control of the game when his team is in need? That's right, jumping out of the way the ball. Totally anonymous once again against a well drilled Atletico team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

I actually don't mind Ronaldo since he went to Juve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Will be tough for Juve to turn this around without an away goal.

I can see Atletico dialling up the sh*thousery to 11 to see it out and get a 2 0 win.

That's a terrible call for the ref booking Griezmann for a great tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭Ardent

Atletico dark horses for the CL again. It'll be some team to beat them.

Did Godin get booked for his celebratory lap?

Athletico are the ultimate at ****housery 😂😂

Second goal in off Ronnie I'm surprised he isn't claiming it for himself.

They're probably better than any other team at it. Might not even watch it.

Full-Time and Atletico win the first leg 2-0. Enjoyable contest and advantage Atletico. Don't think the tie is over yet though. Second leg should be great as well.

Was very disappointed in Dybala. Game passed him by.

That was good, i enjoyed that match.

Once again? He's got 22 goals in 31 games against them which is a pretty good ratio against any team never mind against one of the best defensive teams in the world.

Not sure this will make the end of season montage but it should. :pac:

Imagine someone never watched a game of football, and you told them to watch out for this lad Ronaldo who one of the best ever, he'd walk away saying are ye having a laugh. Always so reliant on others to tee him up for a tap in. Contrast it to the work and creativity guys like Dybala and Griezmann show in these tight games to open up space, set the tempo and get attacks flowing. Ronaldo has always lacked this.

Surprised ‘Ronnie’ didn’t make the Atletico players celebrate with him after the 2nd.

Alot of those goals came in the pre-Simeone era, where they were a mid-table team. Did nothing against them for several years after Simeone came, bar a peno in a game Real had already won. Got some success against Atletico when they regressed. But always struggles against them when they are well drilled and operating at this level

Right call. Just a shame the ref didn't dish out more cards to the Atletico players in the first half for some of the tackles they were putting in, Saul's one on Ronaldo in particular.

Anyway, deserved win but I hope I don't have to watch Atletico past this stage.

Jaysus some people just looking for an excuse to **** on Ronaldo. Slightly bitter

To be fair to Ronnie, it's hard when you are a forward in a negative team.

Juve need to change their style. This negative football doesn't win cl any more. All the best teams attack.
