Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool resorting to hoofball to try and create something. Pathetic showing from the best attacking team in the world.

Just in now and turned on the game. What the hell happened that everyone is gone off and now Rashford is limping now as well.

First half was more like an episode of Casualty.

Liverpool need fresh legs and a boost of tempo

Nope, wrong again. Neither team playing well and both looking for long direct balls to get in behind.

We're they tackles or just muscle injuries?

Bit of both and Bobby turned his ankle.

As poor a game as I've seen in a long time, pool with no cutting edge and Utd happy to play on the break, and looking the most likely to Nick one

That was a penalty on Matip, this is not rugby.

    Take your pick ref.

    1st one was 50-50
    2nd one was a 100% penalty.

    LOL it's not Netball either.

A penalty at Old Trafford, are you joking? :pac:

Absolutely dreadful game, the quality is awful, full of errors.
    Hope City win the league.

It's a VAR penalty all day long.

Bizarre Shaqiri wasn't brought on earlier. Game seems made for that type of player. Lukaku and Rashford have so much less mobility it's baffling that Liverpool aren't just building phases of possession. No need to be so direct.

Everything is a VAR penalty really.

Worried about Shaqiri being on. Can see him having a role in the winner.

As a neutral, bang average game.

They rarely live up to the hype.

Great call by the assistant over on that side.

Hoofenballen making an appearance for Liverpool

A special Klopp aerial passing tactic, he really is an innovator

Considering utd are going to have to play 50 odd mins with no changes and a crocked Rashford, they've done well all things considered.

Liverpool have won more penalties at Old Trafford than any away team on any ground in Premier League history................... just saying

At no point did Liverpool go for it, strange. We really might regret not pushing for the win, we still look in holiday mode.

United played absolutely out of their skin to get a result there. All credit to them. Liverpool still struggling to get back to even a hint of what they can do.

That's disappointing from liverpool, worst utd side in years and never really went at them

Missed chance for Liverpool there today. Poor in the final third. Need to up their game against Watford midweek. I'd be concerned about them dropping more points. These tight draws were wins earlier this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

United exceeded my expectations defensively and Liverpool below what I had expected in attack. Solid result for both sides.

Very poor spectacle though for the neutrals. Another game that fails to live up to the hype.

Once again, a utd/pool game that was hyped up to ridiculous levels and didn't really live up to expectations.

Two points lost in a big way. Really worrying that none of our forwards seemed to fire at all today. I hope tiredness is not kicking in, still a long way to go in this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,576 ✭✭✭deaddonkey15

No way will this Liverpool side win the league. City would have torn that United team apart today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,695 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

Really poor, disjointed game. Liverpool looked disjointed and very blunt up front, very wasteful with free-kicks and passes. Both teams gave the ball away way too easily.

United will be probably be happy enough considering the first-half injuries. They are so so much better defensively these days.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,225 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Likely both teams will be happy with that result despite what the next few hours of this thread might throw up. United looked far more threatening throughout.

Salah being surgically removed from Shaws pocket as we speak, Shaw deserved MOTM.

Thought Lukaku showed he can be a more than capable RW option for United, some great crosses.

Young is past it though and not up to big games any more.

Game was never going to be the be all and end all of the season for either team.

Issues for United going forward immediately are the injuries and how long key players are out for.

Issues for Liverpool is a seemingly misfiring front line at a crucial time of the season.

Shaw deserved MOTM. Really curtailed Salah after a slow start.

I suppose you could call it.....

Poor performance. Think united dragged us down to their level and they got lucky with the injury in the first half.

But the aim was not to lose as they won’t cost City any problems.

Yeah and they have a game every three days until the middle of March. Thought Liverpool looked leggy in the final third. Watford midweek could be a very tough game (if good Watford turns up).

In fairness United battled well and Liverpool couldn't do much more. Maybe in the first 20 mins they could have scored, but they were up against a team today who gave it 100%
